Reality lives on the macro level. Living in a society that has created these have and have nots has created class distinctions among people.
Here in the Bible belt we still have a church on every block. So, why aren't they doing their job?
Welcome to the macro world.

Marvin Olasky has written a book that describes how the churches traditionally were the ones to handle caring for the poor and how they did a markedly better job than the government has.

I have no problem with that . Others who made smart choices , better education , invested their money etc deserve more than me . I don’t want to be “made “ equal

In lots of places - most recently Birmingham - the government made them stop.

Murder victims. All from this week I think.

I don't think many people would disagree with that. My main concern are children who are not given a chance to achieve based on their environment and how that generally leads to larger problems for society.
The other piece that I have a problem with is when I make just as good of decisions as other people but not allowed the same opportunity. I have faced a couple instances of housing discrimination and the police not taking the word of someone else over mine for no legitimate reason. It just makes the mountain harder to climb for no reason.

How does the government stop something God-Ordained? You would think something like that was just as inevitable as televangelist becoming multi-millionaires.

There has never been nor will there ever be a society that doesn't have class distinctions. The only question becomes the population sizes of the various classes.
Somebody will have the biggest cave with the best water.

Um, they say you aren't welcome here anymore?
I mean, those folks in the project really didn't need that health clinic anyhow did they?
Just so you don't think Birmingham is an outlier
Fairfax, Virgina told the church they couldn't feed the needy home cooked meals
Nope, can't have the Church feeding them. They might give the hungry people fatty foods. They might tell them about Jesus. They might use the same plates they use to feed their families.
Nope. Not allowed. Better to depend on the government and/or just let them starve.

You don't have to convince me. I believe! Even when the cookie jar is getting low, folks will always be fighting for that last cookie. Altogether, "Welcome to the Jungle."

The health clinic is still operating as it was not located within Birmingham Housing Authority property. They were doing mobile Covid testing in the housing projects, which was what was halted.

What I'm saying is that the church should know their bible-based mandate. Jesus fed the poor. In that Christians would have the obligation to obey God rather than man, it should be a waste of time to try to legislate something other that these Church's God-Ordained obligations.
To an even greater degree, the Church has the moral mandate to instill a value system in their congregations. In that the majority of people still profess to be Christion in this country, why is it that our statistics on crime, violence, murder, rape, etc, are higher in this country than many nations who don't profess to be Christian?

I don't have a problem with the guy that builds the better mousetrap gets rewarded. But when that guy continues to get rewarded to the point he is getting paid several thousand times what his bottom employees get paid, there is an issue. I'm talking about the Jeff Bezo's and the Koch brothers types of people. Billionaires who have gone from smart businessmen to parasites who suck the blood of their employees to make another billion. The Koch brothers are a real example of POS predators. Read up on them if you don't believe me. They like to buy companies, reduce the benefits and pay away from employees, reduce safety and ignore regulations to that effect, all in the name of an extra buck. There are ways to maintain wealth and reward your employees at the same time. The founder of Costco is one example.

Ok, I did not understand what you were saying.
I don’t disagree with one bit of this.

One thing they apparently ALL HAVE is a gun. And if they get in an argument with someone, just pull the gun out and try to shoot them. Whats a few stray bullets in a crowed mall? Guess you dont need a brain to own a gun either.

Safety was increasing in workplace prior to the creation of OSHA, etc.
Koch brothers also support ending the war on drugs and hiring ex-felons. A sizeable portion of their work force is also unionized. If they're gaming the system they prob. trying to recover what they feel they're robbed of in it. I'm more offended by us wasting money on military and boondoggles like Solyndra, not to mention Big Pharma, etc.
At this point, I think the best move is for America to go back to Articles of Confederation right down to the city/county level. That way the District of Crooks become irrelevant and folks will prioritize policies over politics. No more tug of war and blame game.

I wasn’t much older than 22 when I got my concealed carry permit.
It isn’t that you have a weapon (or for that matter a six pack, a fast car, ATV, or other dangerous item), it is how responsible you are with it.
