I think with the expansion of the season, college teams will have this NFL mindset. A loss isn't catastrophic. With the old setup, losses meant more

That's right...let's finesse Drink into holding out his players. By any means necessary. A dub is a dub.

He gutted out the end of the Auburn game on adrenaline and probably some meds. Ankle injuries tend to get worse with short periods of time compared to immediate aftermath. I'd imagine he's extremely hobbled and they've decided it's better for him to not play Saturday, get a bye week and be healthy for their stretch run sitting at 6-2(Oklahoma, @ SC, @ State, Arkansas) than play him at 30% Saturday, reinjure it and go with Pyne for the last 4 games.

Drew Pyne isn't exactly chopped liver. He's a 5th year senior who started for Notre Dame 2 years ago. He had 300 + yards and 3 TDs against USC in 2022. If he's gotten 1st team reps this week I expect Mizzou to not see a huge dropoff.

If he’s getting first team reps this week he’ll be better than coming in cold against Auburn, definitely a downgrade from Cook though. I’ll take anything we can get to get a W.

Their top running back being injured is just as big as Cook not playing. Mizzou will be more one dimensional.

We should destroy them with that list.

This is a good point and probably why Vegas had an absurd -13.5 Alabama line on this game.

It’s at -17 now.

The availability report would possibly suggest that is reasonable if Alabama gets right.

We need to beat every ranked team we have left convincingly. Maybe we can turn it around.

The LSU game is going to tell us a lot about this staff. They passed the UGA deal. That was great.

Yep LSU is the hump. Beat them and crush the rest we have a chance to see what we can maybe do in the playoff.

He stinks. There's a reason he couldn't beat out Tyler Buchner at Notre Dame. He was pretty miserable last Saturday too. He only put together one decent drive & he ended it with a fumble. Mizzou would have never won that game unless Cook came back.

With that said, I expect him to look like Dan Marino this weekend.

Now that you've said that, he'll go out there and play like Johnny Manziel.

Mizzou is a deservedly ranked and talented team. It will be a tough game and the line is absurd. If I was a betting man Mizzou would be a fire bet

If Alabama plays a fairly clean game, they could cover against Mizzou without their starting backfield and several other contributors out on both sides of the ball. Can Alabama play a “fairly clean game” in 2024?

Bama could play a fairly clean game and it still be tight. Mizzou has talent
