What's the consensus on the no. 1 seed? 1-2 record down the stretch at a minimum keeps us there?

If we beat Florida, I think our floor becomes the highest 2-seed (11-7 in Quad 1 games versus 7-5, with a head to head win)

My concern is that Houston might not lose until the conference tourney and Tennessee’s resume is nearly identical to ours at this time

Our biggest strength by far is Quad1-A games. These might just get us the nod

Bama: 11 games (8-3)
Tennessee: 10 games (6-4)
Florida: 8 games (4-4)
Duke: 7 games (4-3)
Houston: 7 games (4-3)

We’d be at very worst #3 overall if selection Sunday was today. Even that requires Duke getting the blue-blood eye test nod

The problem is that we are probably gonna pick up 2 or 3 more losses

1 more win gets us a 1 seed. UNC was a 1 with 7 losses last year and their resume was weaker than ours

Yeah but this year there are 6 teams with better resumes than last year's UNC, so you can't just look at last year and say we'll be a 1.

Beat UT and/or Florida and suddenly we hold wins over 2 or 3 of the 3 teams we're competing with for a 1 seed (Houston, UT, and/or UF).

I just can’t wait to get a 1 seed and have Gonzaga/Uconn as our 8/9 matchup

Great game last night. Light crowd which sucked but it didn’t affect the team at all. It’d be cool to hit 22 3s a game for the next 12 games.

This team is fully capable of winning a title even if we’re off.

Sears has to play well though.

The late tip off time didn’t help. Thankfully it didn’t hurt the team. They were dialed in.

I kept standing up and yelling every time we would hit a shot and people looked at me like I was interrupting a piano recital. Our fans just aren't great bball spectators.

We don't have any lady "shriekers" like the Georgia annoying lady -- annoying to listen to even on TV?

Very similar to the shrieker during our tournament game against Grand Canyon last year. Horrible to listen to.

I’m as hard as anybody here on Jarin…but he is now shooting 41% from 3 in SEC play.

He's shooting the way he's capable of shooting, but he needs to be a catch-and-shoot corner 3 guy because, like with Nelson, bad things tend to happen when he puts the ball on the floor.

You just described everyone not named Sears, Philon, and Holloway. Everyone else should pe shooting or passing when they touch it.

Grant is supposed to be a slasher, but that has gone away. Mo D can post up smaller guys. That’s pretty much it.

Jarin is our best combination of great defense, good shooting, strength/length.

I never thought I would see it, but in two of our past 3 games we have done an entry pass to Cliff where he had established back to the basket position over a smaller player. He finished both of them. I would love to see that wrinkle a few times per game if we have a matchup win in the paint. Not even for the points, just something else opponents can't completely ignore when they play us.

It’s tough with him because he has 0 handles. It’s not as bad as Wague last year because he can at least finish alleys and is ok at high action screen hand offs but if someone is near him and he’s dribbling then the ball is getting poked out

He definitely doesn't need to put the ball on the ground, it's a mess then... But watching some of his old highlights from Rutgers, when he gets deep with back to the basket he seemed pretty effective at just catch, turn and finish. Im definitely not pushing for him to be a focal point, but I have noticed that he get's a fair amount of mismatches in the paint from defensive switching and I found it interesting we dumped it to him a few times. I can't remember the last time I have seen that.
