He's not the same guy we saw at Texas. I was wrong about him. He is a winner

I am one of the original critics of JM. Granted, he improved a lot but he is not an elite QB. He can't grasp the field or the situation that is in front of him. Many times he doesn't know where the line of scrimmage is, holds the ball way too long, and misses receivers that are wide open. He made the comment that he is not a runner but a passer. If he would run more, then the defense would respect that and not bull rush him as much and he would have more time to pass. Very talented athlete, but still an average QB.

I was very critical of him and the OL early in the season. He has made a believer out of me. Here is a post after the Aggie game.

In response to your post. Yes you are correct regarding Bond drifting rather than sitting in the window. However, Jalen is still the same guy. 1-2 boneheaded throws a game, bad pocket awareness, and struggles with accuracy in the short to medium throws. It is what it is.

This is his team. They all seem to play harder for him. Especially OL and WR. His toughness and grit is easy to cheer for as a fan as well. I just hope he continues to improve and those 1-2 boneheaded decisions don’t cost us dearly in a tight game.

Pocket awareness is better, decisions when to run/not are better, confidence is better, accuracy is better.

Hell the whole team is better and leadership from Milroe is a huge reason why.

I’ll get in here….I was totally out on him and the coaching staff after USF. I’m very puzzled about where this level of coaching was hiding in ‘21 and 22’. Our lines of scrimmage were horrible, but now we have a people fighting and pushing people around. Im happy to see it, but will maintain that our level of physicality those 2 years was on the mat.

i was hard on him and still will be. the dude did what i said he couldnt do, win a championship. i'm ecstatic that he improved enough to accomplish this. hes a huge reason bama is in the cfp and i only wish the absolute best for him.

however, lets not act like he didnt cost bama yardage and possibly several td's against uga. had he not been so erratic with his passes and decisions this would've been a blow out.

yes i know he's still learning. hes an emotional guy and his play sometimes reflects that. hes gonna have to get over that. thats my opinion

This. He's the energy behind the team. He makes some boneheaded mistakes, but makes up for them 10-fold

I wasn't as vocal on here about it, but I certainly had my doubt. That may be an understatement. Once the Ole miss and A&M games rolled around and he showed he could win the game with his arm, I started coming around. The one thing I can say about him now; aside from his play on the field. I love the dudes passion for the University. In a world where NIL rules and we essentially have free agents with no salary cap and guns for hire at the QB position, he really seems to love the University and takes pride in playing here. That makes me as happy as seeing him win any game.

Holy shite…. I mean do you have any shame at all? So you gonna trash Milroe when he fricks up like all qb’s do, but now when he’s got Bama playing for a championship you gonna lick his arse.

It’s fricking comical how some ppl on here trash players left and right with they’re bull shite post cause they don’t live up to expectations and then the next breath start praising them and saying… I all ways knew he was going to be great. What a fricking joke

Holy shite is right. Calm down there, buddy.

So you have to blindly defend every player in order to support the team you root for? I didn't think he was good enough early in the season. So did a lot of ppl. Then when I saw how bad our other options were against S Florida I knew Milroe had to be the guy. I jumped on the band wagon and I've defended him ever since. I changed my mind based on the events that played out. That seems pretty reasonable.

What isn't reasonable is riding a guy's nut sack no matter what.

Apparently hymen here thinks you can't change your mind on a player. Good to know.

I don’t think anyone thinks he’s an elite NFL ready quarterback, but he finished 6th in the Heisman as a first year starter and he’s only a sophomore. He’s turned himself into a good quarterback and he’s usually the best athlete on the field. That’s a winning recipe as we’ve seen this season. I think he could be elite next season if he keeps progressing

This where I am at. He is not an elite QB. Yes he has made some big plays including two to win the last two games but he also continues to put us in bad situations taking a sack for a huge loss because he can not feel the pressure until it is to late.

I am glad he has progressed but I think it has a lot to do with the offense adapting to his strengths. Creating plays that get the ball out of his hand quicker and more QB runs has really helped him showcase his talent.

Hopefully he continues to succeed and help the team win.

Wasn't Caleb Williams the frontrunner coming into this season and did not even get an invite or finish top 10 in the final votes.

It’s time to eat a full plate a crow!! I was wrong and was hoping to be the whole year! Milroe got better and played well enough to win tonight.

Huge shoutout to the OL and Defense who really won the game tonight. Milroe missed several wide open receivers, but the defense picked him up and the OL dominated most of the game. Milroe’s legs sealed the game on the last drive with major push from OL!

In Saban + Milroe we trust

I would take Milroe over GMac, Coker (still huge fan), 2011 McCarron, 2016/2017 Hurts

Every one of these QBs either won a championship, or put us in position to win one

Milroe has been a thrill to watch

Definitely a Coker fan and yes Milroe is on par with them and better then some as well.

What I like about Milroe is what I liked about Blake. Both seemed to leave it all on the field and do everything they can to help the team win.
