It’s a bit weird in basketball for sure. For us we’re traditionally the 2nd best team in a conference that hasn’t been very great at basketball. But we’ve never been able to make a deep run until last year while teams like Miss St have.
So it would be like when TCU made the title game but if they actually played competitively in the game and then their conference became the best. Feels like we finally have a seat at the table.

Historically a team as poor as Bama defensively has never won the title. Since 2002 every champ has been in the top 25 in KenPom defensively. Bama is currently 47th.

I think there are 1 or 2 that started the tournament outside the Top 25 and played their way into it

Would love to see the strength of schedule for these past teams you're referring to. Bama's is currently #1.

Do you happen to recall what our rating was last year? I know we did not win a championship, but we turned things up in the tournament before getting beat by a UCONN team that was beyond everyone else.
I don’t have any illusions of winning it this year, but would be great to go to the elite 8 again.
