Wrightsell is too good of a shooter to be left out. He’s in a slump right now but he played a heck of a game against Arizona. Wo really missed on the Williamson evaluation. We could’ve gotten a rebounder or at least someone who can get putbacks or alley oops.

We are staring an 0-2 start in the SEC right in the face. Kentucky has figured it out and Vandy is a machine.

Hell, Yale is loseable…they are getting some At-Large consideration by these bracketologist.

Im all for him being a good shooter and believe part of this is temporary and he will come around. But we can't have multiple one trick ponies on the court at the same time that don't offer any athleticism. We are just too bad at rebounding and defense right now to worry ourselves about guys getting hot offensively. Wrightsell and Mallette just shouldn't be on the court at the same time. Mallette is scrappy as hell, but he is playing the 3 when Wrightsell is out there and it's a complete liability because he can't get open against opposing 3s and he struggles to cover them. I know very little about Bethea, but I know he is a better basketball player than they are and he needs to be playing more immediately.y.

I don’t think he’s better than Philon, Biz, or Bethea and he doesn’t defend or do gritty things as well as Mallette. At a certain point it’s just about minute allocation.

He will definitely play but I think he needs to firmly be in that Jamal Crawford bench mob scorer role.

I seriously doubt Williamson would be competitive in Alabama high school basketball. He literally looks worse than a walk on.

I have to think that after day 1 practice of watching Williamson live against sec players the lead scout for his addition was sneaking out the door quickly.

We will beat Kentucky at home. At Vandy will be tough. But we will be by far the best team they’ve seen. They haven’t played a tough schedule at all.

League is way down from what it was last year. This team has issues no doubt but I still think we win the SEC.

I thought we were told in the off season that Davion Hannah was some defensive savant. He didn't even play yesterday. Is he injured? I wouldn't be surprised since it seems our whole team stays injured. Some notes from attending the game:

-Bethea looks really good offensively when he is in
-Sherrell looks like he has stepped up his offensive game this season. In the first half it seemed like he was getting all the points for us
-Amari Allen was a great get and I enjoy watching him play
-Houston Mallette is basically a non factor whenever he is in
-Whoever thought it was a good idea to snag Williamson needs his head examined.
-I enjoy watching Bristow and believe he needs more playing time
-Was the Johnson kid for Kennessaw State the same kid that was committed to us but we pushed away due to his legal issues? He was making everything
-I thought the defense played with a lot of grit for the most part. Kennesaw St was making a lot of contested shots in the second half. Kennesaw was aggressive defensively and was impressive

i think just the odd man out since his offense is still pretty raw. i could see him crack the rotation again at some point depending on what happens. either way hope he sticks around as a sophomore.

same. knew hed be a versatile player but his fight on the glass has been a welcome surprise that we desperately need

as a playmaker but hes been pretty productive overrall as a glue guy. im probably more bullish on what hes brought than most on here. he plays damn hard. only issue is when the shot is off + the lineups with a lack of team size/toughness can get us into trouble against the top teams

i think its more mental than anything. his skillset isnt all that bad for a guy that you would hope to give 10 or so minutes off the bench. def a miss but i can see how they made the mistake. hopefully the bag wasnt that big.

not sold on that yet. decision making is too questionable at times but has clearly established himself as the backup center.

yes. rj is pretty good. i think pettway is the only reason he isnt at a high major right now.

in the first half the D was excellent. second half was not. kennesaw did look like a solid mid major who in the second half did do a good job of exposing our more awkward lineups. i could see them winning conf usa
