It was misdirections and runs that stressed the edges that ate us up against FSU. We lost containment too many times, and as already discussed, our LB's are horrible at gap discipline.
Overall when it comes to run defense we are a very undisciplined defense with running a bad scheme. That's not a good combination.

Watching Kane PC right now. He has no clue. Bunch of word salad.

He just said Lawson is doing great at pass rushing. Bahahaha we are so screwed.

I wish someone would ask him why the defense is so undisciplined against the run. If the answer isn't "It's my fault" then it's the wrong answer.

He said outside of 3 70 yard runs we did good. Lol. No joke

Was it sweeps and stuff that gashed us against FSU? I honestly don’t remember. Either way I’m not confident Kane can get it corrected.
Yes. We're not all that terrible defending the run between the tackles. Not great, but not terrible either. It was a mixed bag for UGA in that respect. Same for FSU really. They both abused the frick out of us on sweeps, reverses, and pretty much anything else designed to get the ball carrier wide because our DBs take a lot of horrible run support angles and our linebackers just aren't very good at recognizing misdirection of any kind. It's a coaching issue all the way. Just a matter of whether it's the position coaches or the scheme or both.

We are 14th out of 16 SEC teams in defending the run. This ain't good and it started last year. But I think it's more of a talent issue than coaching schemes.

I think that having Keenan back significantly helps stopping the run between the tackles, but we are still way too slow to attack on outside/perimeter runs and the eye candy shite. Our linebackers and safeties are too slow to react, and they end up getting easily blocked and there is way too much space to run. I think that it is a coaching/scheme issue.
eta: sorry robotsanta, didn't see your post above. Yes, what you said.

There aren’t 13 teams in the SEC with better talent than us on the defensive side of the ball. It is scheme and coaching. 14th out of 16 is absolutely unacceptable. Not a single other school in the SEC would hire Wommack as their DC. I liked the hire in the beginning, but he’s gotta go after this year.

Vandy's near the top in the SEC at rushing the football.
We're one of the worse in the SEC at stopping the run.
Kane runs that 3 man front vs Pavia and their offense, OC Tim Beck will certainly expose it as he did last year.
More than likely we'll need to score in the 40's to win this one as Vandy's offense is better than Georgia's.

Lawson is a liability. Other than that we have the talent and it’s coaching and scheme.

Bama's run defense is ranked 90th....
We've given up 12 20+ yard plays... 22nd in the nation...

Phrase it right if you gone post it.
Not setting the edge or keeping the edge contained is the reason for big gains and he's not lying.
Real simple issues that can be fixed!

That’s what I said. Minus Lawson. He’s not a starting backer. Period.

Lawson was a decent linebacker last year before he got injured.
Lawson was one of the highest graded linebackers Saturday!
Neither Jefferson or Lawson attack/react like Campbell did last year though.

Lawson is the worst linebacker we’ve had except Trey Depriest. There’s a reason he’s back for a 5th year senior. Putrid

Alabama’s pass defense is so good because nobody worth a damn needs to pass to move the ball. We’ve gotten cooked several times this year in the secondary tbh.

Lawson has been injured a lot! Maybe that's the reason

And we only got one loss!
How's that possible if it's so easy like you claim?
