I know this is foreign to younger Bama fans, but that season was so sweet after years of being just pretty good.

Similar to 2009.

now you have learned why, every time I see LSU fans proclaiming that their 2019 team was the greatest ever, I always say that 1992 Alabama > 2019 LSU

Different times, different schemes, and all that noise, but the 1992 Alabama Defense was Legendary, and the offense was powerful enough to get the job done.

2019 LSU would be lucky to put 14 points on that Defense, and the 1992 Alabama offense would have pounded the LSU defense into submission.

JMO....some will disagree.

I was a junior at Ala and my dad had clients in Miami so he got me tix for Xmas. They were smack dab in the Miami section between the goalposts on about the 8th row in the endzone.

Late 3rd quarter, there was literally nobody sitting around us. It was f'n great.

In a time machine game, 2019 LSU beats the frick out of 1992 Alabama.

That's being generous.

I watched it with my dad on a tiny TV with rabbit ears at our hunting club in Monroe County.

It’s one of my most fond memories.

That's funny. Had you said Marengo Co I may have thought us related.

I thought I was going to lose my brother the day of this game.

We were at our hunting lodge as well. Had just gotten back in from the morning hunt and were eating breakfast. My brother wasn't happy with the reception and placed his milk glass on top of the TV as he commenced with trying to fix it. Needless to say, a couple of bangs on the side of the old shitty satellite fed box TV later, the milk spilled and shorted it out.

The initial arse whipping was bad. And, there was talk that 15 was long enough for any boy to live. But, several hours of him holding a hair dryer to the TV later and all was well.

Tremendous game and feeling. That game, the 2009 SEC CG, and the following NCG are 3 of my favorite sports memories of all time.

My brother surviving to live another day when Dad and Uncles were contemplating otherwise was just icing on the cake.

I know Demopolis well.

But I'm actually from North Alabama myself (Florence), we just had access to two large camps. One in Marengo, just south of Thomaston. The other in Sumter Co east of Livingston.

Beautiful country. Miss those days. Got really spoiled on prime deer, turkey, hog and quail hunting way too early in life.

I had the great fortune to meet Coach Oliver a few yrs ago at an Orange Beach bar. We probably talked for close to an hour. Told me he resides on beautiful Lake Guntersville. I'm in Huntsville btw so not far away. It brought a huge smile on his face when we talked about that game. Even before I met him he was my favorite De Coordinator of all time.

That defense would whip any college team you put on the field against it.

Go to you tube and watch that game.

I had graduated from Bama in '87. My family was 100% GA fans, my Dad played at GA, met my Mom there, all my brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and aunts went to GA, but I was the youngest of 5 and just had to be different and went to Alabama.

I watched the game with my family, Dad, Mom, 2 brothers & wives and a sister that night. They all were saying that Miami was going to whoop us. I think my Dad more than others wanted Miami to win because he had to pay out of state tuition for me to go to Bama.

Anyway, by the 2nd quarter they were all Alabama fans, including my Dad. Back then defense was king in the SEC, so when they all got see our defense crush them, they converted for 1 night to Bama fans.

I agree with others, that defense was the best I have ever seen, it was a thing of beauty.

The full game with commercials omitted. Highlight of the game is at 1:08:20 (not Teague; that is a few minutes later).

I work with a guy that was a soph on the Bama team. He said that building up to the game there was an intensity like he had never seen. Copeland and Curry had the goal to make it hell for Geno. I think that they succeeded.

Was a senior at UA that year and was at the game. There was so much tension and release with finally winning one after Coach Bryant. 2009 felt similar.

That being said, that 1992-93 offense was so horrifically bad. Just a paleolithic offense Stallings insisted on running. Without that near GOAT defense, we would have been .500 team that year

This was the difference in the game.

If the four team playoff had existed that year, I doubt Alabama would have been able to muster the same intensity for a semifinal against FSU or a final against Miami and losses to one or the other.

We would've done the same to FSU. The same thing would've been said. "Bama is no match for the 'Noles" etc.
