Dilfer has Mortensen. Prime just got Kelly. Lane, Kirby, Tucker, Cristobal, Lanning, Butch, Sarkisian and Lupoi have all left and have even poached some players after leaving. Alabama is the whore of college football when it comes to coaches and programs benefitting off of Saban’s pedigree. I think it’s really a testament to his overall coaching. Even amongst all the losses, 10 wins has been the absolute FLOOR.

But for some fricking reason, coaches here outside of Kirby just don’t want to stay where the frick they are for an extended period of time. They wanna just head off to be head coaches and inevitably fail and be shamed for whatever reason. You don’t have guys like Chavis or Venables anymore that just know what they are and stay in their lane. Is it some kind of ego thing? I cannot imagine money is too much of a factor when a coordinator is getting over a million dollars on the regular anyway here to just do the same stuff Saban does down to a set amount of position groups instead of the whole team. They’re getting 1/4 of the salary of their new job maybe on average doing 1/10 of the work. That and I think think the landscape of college football has led to dog shite programs being trigger happy on coordinators that have one good year. To any dawg fans that lurk this board, good luck to y’all around 2026-2027. You’re gonna be winning a lot of games but it’s gonna be painful how you’re winning them.

Beat Florida 49-12 but it was because your superstar QB behind his depleted o-line had the game of his life running the ball for 275 yards and 4 TDs on the ground and the defense had 3 INTs for TDs. Opposing defense had 7 sacks and safety though while your team was out gained by 150 yards and your team had 80 yards in penalties for the 4th time that year.

Forgot to mention your OC and DC were Matt Patricia and Joe Judge serving under Kirby’s rehab program.

Small rant but who the frick cares it’s what the god damn site is called.

Auburn is about to cut a check to Bryan Harsin for something like $15 million just so he won't coach them. In addition to what he had already been paid in salary, he got over $20 million from those dipshits to coach 21 games. That is why all coaches want to be HCs these days. The contracts are stupid, and losing still gets you paid.

Yeah, these dumbass neck beards in Georgia always wanted to shite on Saban/Bama yet were quick to hire one of his top disciples and followed the Saban formula to a T.

Like Robot Santa says above ^^^^^This X’s 350.

Even if they fail, at least they Peter principle’d and got their$. They can usually go back to position coaching or coordinator jobs at more than they would make starting out selling cars or insurance or real estate…can’t blame them.

That is the factor, people say this things. Like guy is making 1 million dollars what is the difference between 1 and 5 million. Guessing just like these coaches the majority of us are bolting for the 5 million dollar offer.

The problem, if you can actually call it a problem is just how Saban works his system. He actively encourages coaches to move up the ladder, that’s what he wants for them. He wants them to go on and be successful; that’s how he defines his own success. Really that’s a good thing, he asks a lot of his staff and in return he gives a lot. That’s the definition of a great manager and leader of people and why he’s able to attract good coaches (current coordinators notwithstanding).

As fans do we love it? Probably not. But bottom line, if you work with Saban and you’re good, you’ll be moving up the ladder fast. If you’re not good, you’ll quietly move on from the program and he won’t hurt your future opportunities by being public about any of it. We should all be so lucky to work for someone who operates like that.

"They said 'Coach, you got 17.1 million left on ya contract and we gone give it to ya'. I said 'What time you want me to leave and what door you want me out of, brotha'".
