If I'm Dr. Mohler, I call Greg Byrne in and give him very explicit instructions to fix the problem. Byrne then tells DeBoer to fix the problem (fire Grubb). If that doesn't happen, Byrne fires DeBoer at the end of the year. And if that doesn't happen, Mohler fires all of them. The buck stops with Byrne. And frankly, he shouldn't be allowed to hire the next football coach anyway.

As an investor, I'm not putting my hard earned money into stock of a company with an incompetent CEO running the company into the ground. On a personal level,I'm never donating my money to go into the bank accounts of football players, and certainly not when they can take my money to Knoxville or Baton Rouge next year. I'm sure as hell not going to pay players when the coaches are incompetent.

Beating LSU and Auburn after seeing just how poorly coached we are (no adjustments, playing soft prevent type defense when we are down 9, not calling plays to help KR out, refusing to run, etc) just isn’t going to happen. It would take a massive readjustment of schemes that Grubb just refuses to do. Tennessee exposed the incompetence of our coaching.
I’m not even sure the program we saw Saturday can beat A&M. We are seriously looking at a real possibility of a 5 loss regular season.

If Keelon plays good in Baton Rouge, Alabama definetly has a shot to win. Bama will beat the Aggies. AU is kinda scary because it's a rivalry, but it's at home, so I think we win. We have a 50/50 shot of making the playoff.

I think our entire passing game was predicated on RCW and Brooks being able to take the top off the defense. Without RCW, Brooks is more one dimensional and can be nullified by the safety always positioned over him.
We really need to become a run heavy and TE passing attack team based on the talent we have available. However our OC does not have the disposition to commit to the run anymore.

I would not go ahead and count aTm, LSU and Auburn as a win. All three of those teams are games that are the exact type of games DeBoer soils his pants in. We could win those games but we could just as likely lose all three as well. At this stage, it is a 50/50 shot in those games.

Aggy has a talented DL and a spread run offense too, right?
I’d sorta predict more of the same from last game.

I'm not keen on getting into the playoffs and then getting beat in either round 1 or 2. So, it is pretty much over for this season.
It was like we didn't even try.
Next weekend I'll probably just let Chicken do the auto-scoreboard and do some in-town trick-or-treating with my grandkids.

The process was all Saban and no coach will ever repeat what he did in TTown.
And it was not like we were a great program prior to Saban arriving. From 1993(the year after winning the NC) over the next 14 years we had 4 10+ winning seasons, 5 losing seasons, and 2 7-5 seasons.
To many on this board seem to think because we are Alabama that the standard Saban created should be the norm. It was not before nor will it ever again be that way.
I do expect a better product on the field than what we are getting but I also have realistic expectations.

This is the key. He seems to get rattled and LSU at night will be rough on him. For the most part the plays were simple but he missed wide open players, missed checked downs, and held onto the ball way too long. Not all the play calling was great and still not a fan of Grubb.
Grubb running our offense reminds me of Golding running our defense.

I wasn’t around for it, but are we forgetting Bear Bryant? Growing up that’s all I heard about! How amazing a coach he was and the championships. It’s always been what Alabama aspired to have. It’s why Saban was also so hyped, it was Alabama’s chance at having another GOAT.

How is this a question? Alabama has been winning championships for a hundred years, even BEFORE Bear Bryant. We didn’t become great when Saban got here. Where the frick have y’all been? Must be young. Learn some history.

This season was always about how far out QB could take us because our OC is who he was.
We forgot that because our OC had a couple good games before UGA and wasn't too bad against UGA. Then reality hit and we're back where we started

The bad period to which you referred was not normal pre-Saban Alabama. It was due entirely to unfair and draconian scholarship reductions, with the threat of more hanging over their heads. Only Alabama could have won an SECC and had 4 10 win seasons during those 12 years from 96-07.
- Alabama has won more NCs (5) with coaches other than Bryant or Saban than any other historical SEC program has in total (LSU is 2nd with 4).
- 5 different coaches have NCs at Alabama
- Alabama has won SECCs (8 titles in 52 seasons) without Bryant or Saban at a faster rate than every SEC program except UGA, who’s rate is only slightly ahead of
Alabama’s without Bryant or Saban
- only UGA, UT and LSU have more SEC titles in 94 years than non-BryantSaban coaches at Alabama have in 52 years
- 7 different coaches have won SECCs. (That’s not counting Wade, Alabama’s 3rd greatest coach, who won 3 NCs in his 8 years. He put the South on the college football map with his 3 performances (2-0-1) in the Rose Bowl against all odds. It was the only bowl of note in the country. He won 3 NCs and 4 Southern Conference titles at Alabama. He went to Duke after the 1930 season, 2 years before the SEC was formed in 1932. He had a good career there and took Duke to 2 Rose Bowls in 16 years and lost both. But it wasn’t the same as Alabama.
- Alabama has 5 coaches (Wade, Thomas, Bryant, Stallings, Saban) with an 80+ winning % (5 years or more since 1916), the rest of the historical SEC has a combined 3: Neyland, Spurrier and Meyer. So without both Bryant and Saban, Alabama has as many coaches with a winning % of 80+ as the rest of the SEC combined.
No one else compares.
Having said all of that, though history still matters some, the landscape has changed dramatically. The past will have even less effect on Marcel Reed Saturday than it has had in the past.

Alabama is more like the team that won 5 in a row, and played well in the loss to UGA, scoring at least 45 in the first 5. They did not play or coach well against a team primed to play them having sleep-walked through the only SEC cupcake the week before. The UGA game took a lot out of both Alabama and UGA who lost to a mediocre AU team AT HOME. Alabama lost to a better team on the road.
Alabama’s OL was spanked by a physically superior DL Though the coaching criticisms are valid, there’s not a whole lot of answers to line physical superiority. UT also likely has the best DC in the country.
In summary: Alabama is almost surely more like the 6 games prior to the 7th game. The coaching staff will surely improve their approach. As far as A&M, they reportedly don’t have UT quality D personnel. LSU seems in between the two.
When the light brightens for Russell and Williams returns it will be a great boost. Also, Green.

Anyway, how much will you be donating to the 68 million dollar buyout?
