All the practice reports that said he was dominant must have failed to mention the fact that it was against the scout team OL.

Yea I put it in the Megathread . Saw this coming . Hate It and wish him luck . Wished Saban could have found some PT for him in blowouts . Happens every year how we hear how good a player is doing in spring and camp never to hardly play . Heard it this year with Sopsher and Javon Baker

That is 4 of the top ranked defensive players from the 18 and 19 recruiting classes gone now.
This is why the defense has been bad the last two year, missing on key defensive recruits and the highly ranked ones Bama does land, doesn't pan out.
Hopefully, the 2020 class changes this trend.

It’s too early to judge the 2019 class. They’re only true sophomores/redshirt freshmen right now

Think buried on the depth chart is an understatement, he was fringe 3rd string.

I was never high on this kid. I watched his Senior film and thought he looked out of shape, never kept his pad level low, and never fired off the ball.
I do wish him well and hope he puts it together somewhere else

This really does suck..he was showing out in practice from all reports. I wish we could rotate more in on the D line especially. I understand other positions it’s a lot harder, but D line honestly shouldn’t be that hard to plug in new guys for a few snaps

They played 7 different DL against UGA, and that's with Ray not playing. That includes 2 true freshmen in Burroughs and Smith.
Seems like a decent rotation, especially in a season where it's all conference play and no cupcake games.
I think people blew that preseason hype out of proportion...

So does being in the portal mean he won't practice, travel or play? We have games coming up where he would have more potential of seeing some playing time.

Hard to believe he was traveling, regardless of the portal. The numbers make it very unlikely. We recruit so many high profile kids. When we have elite recruits that just don't fit, it's always a little startling.

we have not really had many blowouts since we are not playing directional schools. We also have a lot of players on the DL who have limited PT who need PT. Maybe he is not in the top 10.

Who were the 7 DL that played ? You counting Anderson as a DL ?
Edit- Guess Young, Dale, Eboigbe, Burroughs , Smith , Barmore . Can’t figure the last one out but I feel like he could / should have gotten a few snaps somewhere this year. Said it a few days ago but it has got to be hard Holding your helmet for two years . Wynn is in the same boat
