Ystar was right about throwing deep lol. Once we got some deep throws off OU defense changed.

He said Ty was fricking it up. Crazy how he had the receivers drop them.

No, Y Star is clueless and literally wrong about everything he’s ever said or even thought. The guy blames Ty for EVERYTHING that goes wrong this season. He lets his weird vendetta he has against Ty to cloud any ability to think rationally when it comes to Ty.
Ty HAS thrown deep balls before tonight. Some were not well thrown but some were just flat out dropped by the receivers.

Yes, we have had some drops, but Ty has been pure shite at deep ball accuracy all season.
31+ Yards (Air Yards): Only 13% completion rate by Week 12, ranking low nationally.
He was off tonight on a bunch and the guys went up and made plays.
It doesnt matter now. Beat Indiana and anything becomes possible.

There is a world in which it’s possible to live in the margins of the message board narratives.
Ty Simpson from USCe on had a 120 QB rating which is 20 points lower than Jalen Milroe had for the year last year. It was a really bad stretch that was clearly due to his injury and a change in how teams were defending him.
It’s also important to note that his OL and WRs have been inconsistent to outright bad during that run and it just so happens that he’d played 5 different top 15 defenses (for a total of 6 matchups) down this home stretch resulting in us already having the #1 SOS before we even played the #2 adj defense last night on the road.
And I mentioned it last night but Venables was doing things I’m convinced would’ve had the bottom third of NFL QBs tied in knots and had one of the best edge guys in the nation back to pair with what was already a ridiculous front 7.
And despite all of that we made adjustments including going vertical after the 1Q play calling looked a lot like what we did against UGA and it completely shredded OU on the plays where they were showing blitz but rolling/dropping back into coverage because Ty started hitting guys on his corner/fade looks like he did before his injury.
So while he only finished with 220 yards passing if we hadn’t had 4-5 massive drops that often led to drive kills he would’ve easily been over 300 yards and his rating would’ve been well back into the 160 range where he was living before the injury and scheme changes derailed the offense.
So all that to say let’s just salute him for what he did and be thankful for some of the changes we saw resulting in us winning in a crazy tough environment instead of making this some he said/she said narrative war.

Actually I'm usually right and that is what frustrates crazy people like you the most.
I was right that this was mainly mental for Ty.
I was right that we needed to throw the deep ball to open things up
I was right that if Ty didn't throw it we couldn't win
I was right that Ty wasn't making the reads, hence being panicked (see his footwork)
I was right Ty has a tendency to run backward, teams keyed in on that and sent outside pressure upward to have him panic and run back
I was right about Ty's accuracy being an issue
I was right Grubb is calling good games but I will concede he does some really questionable things at times
I was also right about not lack of trust of RW in pivotal moments
I was also right about Jam being an huge disappointment
You never seem offended when I heavily criticize others but only Ty. Deal with it. He isn't above criticism and last I checked football players need to feel and hear that as motivation... not coddling and excuses that you guys like for only Ty.

You people are mental. I have always had a preference for Ty Simpson because he is an active Christian that represents Christ.
It's why it's so odd when you try to say I hate him or that it's a race thing.

He nailed it. Credit where credit is due.

There has been some rumor going around that Ty was injured. I am sure he is banged up like all SEC players at this time of year, but let’s not kid ourselves, a lot of Ty’s issues were mental. It happens to athletes at every level. It happened to OU’s Groza award winning kicker after he missed that one kick. In fact, that one miss could send that elite kicker into a serious tail spin and wreck a promising career.
Even Lt. Governor McCaron saw that Ty was struggling mentally, and lobbied for weeks that the coaches give him some easy throws to build his confidence.
No, it is not all Ty’s fault. The Oline has struggled. The lack of a running game has put tremendous pressure on him. Receivers have dropped balls. However, coming up yards short on long throws, like at the end of the first OU game, and like on several throws last night, is mental.
Glad we won, though. I am thinking we may have gotten a little confidence and swagger back. Our offense scored 28 on an elite defense.

His takes are fine. His martyr complex is off-putting.

I never said anything about race and never said you did either. I do think you have a vendetta against the guy for some weird reason and absolutely refuse to give him credit for ANYTHING. Not saying Ty is or has been perfect but he's nowhere near as bad as you claim he is.
