It's kinda looking like it's possible we might need more help to get in the playoffs besides just winning out. We really need 2 of the 3 of Texas, Oregon, or Washington to take a loss. I think it's a given that Oregon and Washington will play again in the pac12 championship. One of Ohio State and Michigan is guaranteed a loss, if we beat Georgia they have a loss, but that still leaves an undefeated big 10 champion, undefeated acc champion in FSU, and possibly undefeated pac12 champion in Washington. There very well could only be one opening for a 1 loss team, and Texas leads us in the polls, has head to head on us, and honestly has probably the second best resume far as SOS. We already have the top SOS, and if we beat Georgia it would be the best by far, but I could see them leaving us out again

Ordinarily a one loss sec championship with the #1 sos is a given to make the playoffs, but that head to head

Just have to keep winning. November is chaos in college football. I don’t think 2023 is going to be any different.

that's the hope. But after seeing TCU get in last year, who knows what the committee is capable of

I agree that we need help if we do win out.

I think that if Washington, Mich/OSU, and FSU are undefeated, and Texas is a one loss conference champ, they will give the nod to Texas because of the head to head win. If Oregon beats Washington, I think we may slide in in front of them. Ideally, FSU drops a game or OK beats UT again. Either would guarantee us a spot.

What would be interesting would be if we beat UGA, FSU losses their championship game, and OK beats UT. We would be in, big 10 champ would be in, Wash. Would be in, but who would be the 4th team? FSU, UGA, or big 10 runner up?

with our luck it would be UGA, and we lose to them in the championship

If a 12-1 Bama team gets left out while a 13-0 Michigan gets in it’ll be a national crime.

My only legit fear is if Ohio St or Michigan go unbeaten, Washington goes unbeaten, FSU goes unbeaten and Texas has only 1 loss. In that scenario they’re going to leave Bama out.

What’s the time line on Ewers coming back? Any chance that has any bearing on the committee decisions? “Texas doesn’t have the QB that beat Alabama.. so it’s bama over Texas” - committee maybe/probably

I have worried about this exact scenario. We have to win the sec to be in, but with Georgia’s sos so bad, would that be it for them? Would they be left out?

given that the cfp committee has already shown us that sos has no bearing on the rankings, i'm not holding my breath. at tis point i'm just hoping to destroy uga's dreams.

KSU blew it yesterday. Had first and goal for the win in OT and pissed all iver themselves. Would have finished TX.
