Williams's playing time was limited probably because he completely whiffed on two blitzes in the first half. That McClellan injury is going to be a problem the rest of the season. And I'm guessing Trey Sanders isn't 100% back from his injuries.

As bad as the 1st half was, the 2nd half was somewhat encouraging. A&M only had around 20 yards of offense before their last drive or two, and the offense moved the ball well until its last drive. Red zone playcalling was pretty terrible though all night.

Granted, BRob was one of the few players who showed up.

I just can't believe how bad we looked in ALL phases of the game.

Defense couldn't blitz effectively to save their lives.

Offense couldn't block a blitz to save their lives.

Poor play calling...1st and goal from the 3 still boggles my mind a day later.

Bryce can't hit ANYTHING deep on the rare occasions he has time and throws low constantly on short routes. It's not like the receivers, outside of Williams, are going to help him out. Metchie's draft stock fell like a rock last night.

And even special teams...not wanting to be left out...gives up a 96 yard KO return.

Such a well rounded loss...and easily the worst regular season loss since 2007.

That’s the frustrating part to me. Once we score to take the lead, I thought we had survived. We had them bottled and then when the chips were down, we choked against a absolute dogshit offense.

Bama used up a lot of juice just to get back to even. We're just so average in our interior DL. We don't have that guy that can defeat is blocker and then kick azz and it shows.

Yep. As bad as we were the 1st half, we dominated the game up to that point, other than the stupid KO return TD. Had we won, that'd be a lot of the discussion today. But we lost, so all the talk is about how outplayed we were in the game, which isn't entirely true. Yes, we looked like dog shite in the first half, and it was a miracle to get to the half not down worse than we were. But I thought we dictated the action in the second half up until about 5 minutes left in the game. Just gotta tip your hat to A&M for digging deeper in those final 5 minutes and gutting out the win.

I’m usually a pessimist and can feel a loss coming. Thought there was no chance we would lose this game.

I did have an uneasy feeling about the game and evidently a few fans agreed, but that doesn't make it easier

edit to say I'm usually an optimist and rarely get that feeling these days

I was playing a club that didn't have the game on, so I missed it, but reading the stats, if you didn't know the score you'd probably have thought we won that game.

Correct. Goals are still all in front of us and we have time to improve. But tonight was bad, and it was bad in a way not seen against similar opponents much during the last 12 years. We could take off from here, that'd be awesome. But it's not some sort of birthright from God that we do.

Feel pretty good about my post-game stance.
