I hope Coach Saban gives Bryce a fair chance.

A fair chance to win the job and not just stick with Mac(who is very good) because Mac is the returning starter.

I think Bryce is as special as Tua was and I hope we don’t have another 2017 situation at QB that causes us to lose Bryce.

Mac Jones is miles ahead of Hurts in regards to accuracy and confidence in his arm.

I’m sure he will. But it’ll be tough to unseat what we’ve seen from Mac. This is not a Kelly Bryant situation

Mac Jones has started and proven he is legitimate quarterback. Bryce is very talented but hasn’t even had a practice. Let’s pump the brakes a little.

Mac Jones isn’t that good. If we have a season where he’s the starter, expect to miss the playoffs again.

I think Saban has learned his lesson. Bryce Young will be the guy

Young's body type has a long way to go to play a full SEC schedule.

And NS has proven he has no problem letting freshmen win the job. You OP suggesting NS wont be fair with him is just DA material

I have no issues with Jones. This team has to establish a run game. The lack of it is why we got beat by CU last year and did not make the playoffs this year. Yes we struggled on D but the last 2 years our D seems to be on the field more then ever for plays due to our fast scoring offense. We have to start controlling the clock more and slow down other teams when they getting hot.

We have won a NC with GMac and Coker as well almost with Sims. Jones is just as good if not better then those guys. It is up to the staff to put these players and the team in the best position for success. Which seems like something our staff has not done a great job of the last two seasons consistently.

I’m not suggesting it. But in 2017 Saban would have stuck with Hurts the whole season and lost Tua to transfer(despite Tua being much much better) if it weren’t for us being in desperation mode.

I think Mac is very very good but I feel like Our teams potential would be much much higher for the next 3 years if Bryce is QB.

Lol he has an almost identical completion percentage as Tua and played against better defenses this year. I think he’ll be ok.

I think Mac starts the season and holds on to the job all year, but Young will be 2nd and I could see Saban getting him some good reps

He was protected by the play calling in every game he played in and was surrounded by more talent than Bama has ever had on the offensive side of the ball. Mac is not an SEC quarterback.

I'll be glad when you people start watching football games instead of your ESPN stat tracker.

Oh so Mac Jones is better than Tua. I guess he’ll be more than okay since he’ll be the first overall pick in the draft.

Did we need someone that great to win the other 4 titles? I mean this has one multiple titles with a game manager at QB.

I know this will get the down votes(enjoy hitting the button) but answer me this. How many titles has Tua won for UA as the starter with all that talent?

I mean hell UT could not win it with Peyton. Sometimes it just takes great coaching and finding players who will buy in to the system and execute the plays. Nothing more.

Which SEC QBs do you think are better than Mac exactly?

Nick Saban will let freshmen play anywhere EXCEPT quarterback. Mack Jones is your starter unless he breaks his leg in August. I’m not saying Young is ready to be the man but even if he is, he’s not getting a fair shake this year.

My post was not a comparison of Tua and Mac, however, the two are not in the same stratosphere from a talent perspective. Unfortunately, Tua is made of glass. I do agree that it doesn't take an All-American QB to win a title. It does help to have a guy who is capable of making plays with his arm on a consistent basis - and not be handicapped by deficiencies that require all-world WR to bail him out. Mac ain't that guy.
