For example, if the OL is getting whipped and your QB is struggling making reads, you gotta run jet sweeps, WR screens, RPO slants, read options, etc.

When you do that your quarterback never learns not to struggle.

You have to take your growing pains.

Pete Golding's defenses are terrible against the run so I think we're gonna run the ball a lot this game. Last year everybody Knew Auburn was gonna run the ball and we still couldn't stop them. And as bad as our OL is as pass blocking they aren't terrible at run blocking.

But our fans will continue to blame Rees' offensive shortcomings on talent for the next four years as they did with Golding and Shula

I know you’re just a broken record that loves to bitch and get upvotes, but breakdown what Rees is supposed to do with this offensive line.

Agree with you completely.

Just like 2021, there is a fail point for an OL after which it simply isn’t possible to run a functional offense.

I think some people have forgotten how the 2021 looked helpless even with BY and the offense stalled when for long periods of time they couldn’t block mediocre to bad front 7 units like LSU, UT and AU.

Even an air raid shotgun attack needs a certain amount of time to get the ball out because if they can’t throw downfield the safeties cheat up and the short throws don’t work anymore.

The offense Saban wanted installed doesn’t work without a good to elite OL and we aren’t even functional right now.

Either that gets fixed or the questions at QB no longer matter because the season is over.

There are some legit reason that Saban wants to run the "Alabama offense and the Alabama defense" We have so much coaching turnover that Saban doesnt want to make the players learn a new system and new terminology every other year. Right now, we dont have a QB to run the pro style offense, or the O line to pass block. They certainly need to do something to get out of that 3 yard square that our offense operates in, though. Its to easy to just blitz, bull rush up the middle and blow it up. You cant tell me that Rees doesnt see and know exactly what us goobers see and know. Cole Cublic says our X def coordinator isnt just running the Alabama defense. Golding has made some significant changes.

Rees did little if anything to make me think he's in over his head. We need to cut ties with him after this season. We can't afford another inept coordinator for multiple seasons.

ND coordinator isn't doing so well now facing decent competition.

I agree. Both Rees and their new OC aren't good.

ND was smart to promote Marcus Freeman. Some programs wouldn't think to give an assistant coach a chance.

Rees hasn't been great obviously, but our OL has been absolute arse, RBs have been meh, and QB play is obviously what we've seen

Yes Sark was a wonderful OC but when you have the OL he did does it matter. I could call plays with that blocking and be somewhat successful. Our OL in the past have masked a lot of deficiencies.

Only inexcusable thing I saw from Rees yesterday was the shotgun snap from the 1 yard line.

Thankfully, it looks like he learned his lesson when we sneaked it on 1st and 10.

I still don’t know what exactly happened there.
