I doubt Tua is "redshirted."

Reading the tea leaves it appears as if Tua will play this upcoming season and might be the week 1 starter. What do you think?

Depends on how quick he picks up the play book. He doesn't get to meet in person with coaches or teammates like he normally would have, due to this virus stuff. Limited actual practice reps may be a problem, not just with him, but other 1st rd QBs.

I predict he doesn’t start week 1 but will be the starter by game 5or 6

Like Bryce Young at Alabama, assuming that the season starts on time.

Just curious, why do you think he plays? I see a team that stocked up on OL and defense, but didn’t invest in many weapons for Tua. I think they sit him and use all those 1st and 2nd rounders next year to get some skill players on offense. If they can generate some pass rush and develop those OL, then they should be pretty good in Tua’s 2nd and 3rd year. I just don’t see them being relevant this year with or without Tua.

Any rookies trying to get up to speed this season is problematic. These poor free agents trying to make a club are in deep doo-doo.

I think the smart thing would be to sit him. Make sure he’s one hundred percent. He’s limited this offseason anyway, so it would let him ease into it without all the pressure. Learn the playbook and offense. Team can use next year’s draft to acquire more weapons. If you are looking at it from a long term standpoint, I think you sit him

Too many variables to predict that. His health is obviously a question but who knows how much of an off-season there will be for him to pick up the playbook, work with his new teammates, etc. The good news is that the Dolphins have a capable veteran so Tua doesn’t HAVE to play if he isn’t ready.

True statement. They won't.

We are talking about the Dolphins however, the same team that couldn't find value in Drake who has flourished in AZ.

Another poster said it best.. Just too many variables in play.

If not for the virus, they would throw him into the fire pan this year imo. Still might, if there's a season.

Even if Tua is healthy they probably start the year with Fitzpatrick, wait until he has one of his 10 interceptions in a half game, and then make the switch to Tua.

Considering he broke his hip in a freakish way, its a marvel of modern medicine that he is up and moving around the way he is now. If he actually plays, that would be incredible

Play him enough to get experience if the OL is functional, but not enough to avoid losing a ton of games so that you draft in the top 5 again.
