If it's 1st and goal at the 5 you can expect QB power to the left. Just get there before Tyler Booker does and you'll stop it for a loss.

Milroe wants to be the leader the hero, he wants that Tua moment to win the National Championship he wants that Hurts moment to win the SEC.

He’s had a little taste of success and it’s probably gave him the ultimate high like he’s never had before and he wants more.

The only problem is that he doesn’t have command of the offense like Tua or Bryce or Hurts or Mac or AJ did. All these QB’s had that fearless quality a QB has to have and their teammates feed off of it.

With Milroe it just feels like it’s all about him, but when the camera zooms in on him he just has that uneasy nervousness in his eyes, like he’s scared of failing and it’s more important not making a mistake than just going out there and playing loose and confident and playing fearless.

There is nobody left to blame anymore, he’s already said he trusted the coaching staff and he felt like they trusted him at the beginning of the year. He had the job and he didn’t have to look over his shoulder anymore to be replaced if he made a mistake. It’s what he wanted and he finally got it and it’s looking like he can’t handle it and that’s nobody’s fault but his.

Good post and I believe spot on.

We aren’t the standard anymore. We should stop using “Alabama is the standard.” We haven’t won a Natty since 2020. UGA is the standard. Everyone has to buy in to getting us back there. Mindset has to swap.

Also, yes, NIL pays players but you should still be motivated by NFL future and earning MORE NIL money. A lot of these players are wanting instant gratification through immediate NIL and doesn’t want to do what is necessary to make value for themselves

Or throw a jumpball to the corner of the endzone with a defender all over the receiver and all the defender has to do is turn around and pick it off.

Definitely a chicken/egg problem but SOME of the responsibility falls to Milroe. He has to allow his blockers in front of him before he out runs him.

that was not jumpball. If he would have thrown it where either #2 would have made a one handed catch like he does in pregame or it sails out of bounds, you live to fight another down, but nope.

This team has several issues, but I think a glaring one is an overall lack of leadership.

We were dialed in for the first half of Georgia. Since that half, it looks to me like most of the players have eaten nothing but rat poison. They were crowned the cream of the crop after that game, even though a number of weaknesses were exposed in the second half. They didn't take Vandy seriously and it showed. They've played poorly as a whole for 10 straight quarters.

Now is the time a leader would rally the troops and hold players accountable for just doing their job correctly on every play. That comes from coaching, but also -- and perhaps more importantly -- from individual players.

I don't want to pile on Milroe, but I hope I never see another scripted touchdown celebration dance when we're losing. Frankly, I don't like them in general ("act like you've been there before"). There's nothing more demoralizing to the opposing team than making a great play and then just getting ready to do it again without any showboating.

My short answer: Bama is mentally soft when every thing clicks and happens to go their way it's electric because of the talent. But they have no will to "make" things happen. No confidence ( to me this is totally visible in the amount of crap being talked ) developed by work ethic like Preachers kids...they ain't living it, but know exactly what to say and what to do

All at once an 18 to 21 year old has money to spend that he has never had before in his life. Do we really think he is concentrating on football. Some may, BUT very few. NIL has become the downfall of football as we knew it. The transfer portal just makes it worst. The reason for penalties is a lack of concentration and discipline.

As others have said, Milroe is the common denominator. I don’t blame the scheme. We had guys wide open and wide open running lanes. Milroe is an athlete. He has no innate feel for the game or big moments. He keeps the ball when he should run and runs when he should handoff. He runs when he has open receivers yada, yada. We need to give Ty some snaps. Milroe has lost whatever confidence he had and I think the team has lost confidence in him. It’s time for DeBoer to earn that fat paycheck and toughen up.

We’re nearly 2 seasons into trying to make an offense work with Milroe leading it. He can’t avoid falling back to old, bad habits when things get tougher due to teams starting to adjust to DeBoer’s approach.

I think he’s got one more opportunity this weekend to show improvement, stop the backslide, and lead the team to a win. If not, I imagine the bye week will be a retool aiming to build for the future in 2025 and beyond by playing more young guys.
