Super pleased with the way he’s developed. Solid QB no doubt.

I still give it to AJ at the moment. Mac hasn't had the opportunity to show he can be as clutch and AJ never had anything close to the WR corps that we have now.

Not a diss @ Mac, who I think is great.

AJ McCarron's career completion pct was about 67%. He threw for 77 touchdowns with only 15 interceptions. He was the qb on teams that won back to back national titles.

Tua Tagovailoa is the career ncaa record holder for pass efficiency and, when healthy,is the best college quarterback I have ever seen. He also won a national title.

I'm going to at least see how this season goes before I declare Jones as good as either of those guys.

For the sake of curiosity I googled McCarron's salary. I found this...

LINK

"The Texans have re-signed backup quarterback A.J. McCarron.

The contract is worth $4 million with $3.75 million guaranteed, including a $2 million signing bonus and $1.75 million of his $2 million base salary guaranteed, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.

McCarron played last season under a one-year, $3 million contract."

The life of a reserve NFL quarterback wouldn't be bad at all.
