And I'm saying it should not be. It is functionally no different than have a beer fridge stacked bottom to top in your garage.

You'll get heat for saying it, but you are 100% correct. Its nonsensical to think otherwise. I dont entirely blame the people who think otherwise-they are victims of decades of governmental and religious brainwashing. Most people these days are on board though, so thats good. Unfortunately for Holloway, the state of Alabama is not. If I were governor I'd disband and defund the west alabama narcotics task force.

It's honestly wild that if one of the two is going to be illegal in any way it's weed. Heavy drinkers usually either get sober or die young. There are tons of old hippies. From a public health standpoint alcohol is exponentially worse. Not even remotely close.

It's not in NY or Virginia. In NY you can have up to 5 lbs.

More important distinction is that it's not a felony in a lot more states than those.

Very well said.

I can go down the street to the dispensary here in CA and buy up to an ounce, some pre-rolled joints, and also have some plants at home and grow my own. If I didn't want to leave the house, I could have it delivered. Somehow society here isn't crumbling even with all these options available.

If a USC player was caught with 2 pounds of weed, would it have even made the news?

Hmm....you're definitely in the minority with this opinion. It's a beautiful state, which is why everyone I work with is constantly struggling to decide if the beauty is worth the hassle.

More and more are deciding, every day, that it isn't.

Only because it's a US port. If the state of California were to separate from the USA tomorrow, they'd be bankrupt within 3 years.

Oh. Then in that case, I agree with you.

Cali suffers from a growing dysfunctional bureaucracy. Even Bill Maher complains about it.

It's really bad. They have run off too many of the "rich" and those evil job-creating business owners, so the middle class are about to start getting squeezed harder than they already are. The state already has to do things like pull back funds distributed in previous budgets because they can't figure out how to fund everything.

Young people there can't find places to live because of rent controls and ridiculous limits on building new housing because of "climate change." Our younger employees stay in-state until they have kids, and then they leave the state.

What does that have to do with the fact that plenty of stoners live long, happy lives and alcoholics are doomed to an early grave and all kinds of awful health problems?

Also, Willie Nelson and Tommy Chong are very much alive.

California leads in debt among all 50 states. State has $497 billion in debt, which jumps to over $1 trillion with local governments and school districts.

That state is completely dependent on being a part of the USA. If the country were to cease operating tomorrow, the State of Alabama could proceed as an entity as if nothing happened. The State of California would collapse.

People who are morons like to claim "red states" are a "drain on the federal government" while "blue states" are net "givers" to the federal government. They never look at the true cause of this problem: required spending. Alabama only "spends" more than our state "gives" to the feds because of spending on social programs that are essentially pass through funds our state is required to spend, by law, on specific purposes. If the USA ceased to exist tomorrow, we'd simply stop funding those programs. California would desperately try to figure out a way to still fund them on their already overextended budget.

frick Bill Maher. I’ve never seen a political commentator hated by almost everyone. He’s a smug dickhead who isn’t half as smart as he thinks he is.

He's only hated by leftists. Us normal people don't care when he disagrees with us. He is one of those normal, not deranged, old school American liberals who has come to realize the things he helped bring about aren't actually what he wanted.
