having played 2 years, he would be eligible for the draft after one more... so he could leave at the end of the next season... (win a championship, that would be of little concern; except for the impact on the LB room...and those hitting the portal because of PT)

If he did come in and played one year and declared that would mean he was good enough to surpass anyone on the roster and start which means he is really that good so I am alright with that.

We have players leave every year and part of the price of our recruiting machine.

If Henry did get happy meals, seems he would have to make a deal with the NCAA for immunity for testimony... no deal, he would not be eligible to play for anyone?? would he not be tainted or would he be able to play for anyone NOT providing Happy Meals? I dont believe I really understand this piece?)

I doubt if there was any question regarding his involvement our staff would not be considering him if reports are true. Just my opinion

TWatts, Thur evening:

Lot of moving parts here but speaking to a source close to HT it sounds like Alabama, Michigan and USC (UGA not pursuing) are the main schools being considered right now. Wouldn't rule out Washington, UCLA and Oregon just yet either. Those last 3 are still trying hard but that main group seems to have the upper hand as of Thursday. Again this is moving pretty fast and could go in any direction. In cases like this nothing surprises me. No timeline for an announcement but was told the family wanted to make a decision sooner rather than later. But they wanted to make sure it was the right decision.

One source I spoke to mentioned the SEC schools could possibly be tied up with the uncertainty of inner conference transfers (going from one SEC school to another) having to sit out a year. I'm not a rules specialist but it was explained to me that current rule is going to be voted on in March to see if they would pass a wavier for this year, and they are aware of that. Again not a rules expert but this is how it was explained to me.

One thing helping Washington, UCLA and Oregon is they are all on the quarterly system, while the rest are on semesters. So those three Pac-12 schools might have an advantage of giving him longer to decide. Again just another angle to factor in.

Right now I don't have a clue where he will end up and I'm told the family has gone underground for the most part but they are doing their due diligence before making a decision. We will keep you posted if we hear more.

It sounds like they want to decide quickly, perhaps so he can enroll and participate in spring camp, and it appears USC can assure immediate eligibility. UA enrollment deadlines: 1/29 for spring term; 2/18 for spring-2 term.

I would guess if the NCAA is making exceptions for this year the SEC will as well. Interesting we are the only SEC landing spot as it appears.

Wonder why he has us in there since obviously there is no possibility he could come here

If we are in there then our staff wants him or at least is inquiring. If he had no shot to come here I doubt we would showing interest unless writers are making assumption because we were in the hunt for his services when he committed to UT and assume he is still considering us.

I’ll never forget this one.

“ On April 11, 2006, Young was found dead in his home in Memphis.[4] Originally thought to be a homicide due to the large amount of blood found throughout the house, local police concluded that Young's death was accidental.[8] This conclusion however is not without controversy due to the implausible explanation given by investigators. According to Homicide Lt. Joe Scott in a press conference, Young tripped while carrying a salad and soft drink up a set of stairs and hit his head on an iron railing. The fall onto the railing opened a large gash across the top of Young's head, causing him to drop to the floor bleeding profusely. After lying on the floor for some time, Young got up and walked bleeding through several rooms of his spacious, two-story house before ending up in his second-floor bedroom. According to Scott, Young walked past several telephones but didn't place an emergency call.”

If you were to hit yourself hard enough and quickly lose a significant amount of blood, it is possible to go into hypovolemic shock. If he were unconscious, and lost 30 to 40% (stage 3 hypovolemic shock assuming he was unconscious for stage 1 and 2) of his blood, then awoke, he would have had mental issues and it would be theoretically possible he would not have used a phone. Usually those issues are extreme agitation and anxiety, but coupled with what i would assume to be quite a concussion, maybe he would have just wandered to an area he felt comfortable, safe, and less confused.

It doesn't seem legit. I would assume the first theory was that someone attacked him and then drug hin around the house. That would have left a ton of evidence if he was bleeding that badly, like footprints, smears, deviations in splatter, etc. So I assume there was no actual evidence for that. So what is left is the accident, regardless of how strange. It would not have been a cover-up as there are typically too many people who are at and around the crime scene while it is being processed to try to hide anything.

The Young murder was about as plausible as Epstein committing suicide.

As for Henry T he chose Tennessee over us. The guys we have now CHOSE us. I'd rather spend our time developing those guys. Jalen Moody played well this year and after one more winter of S&T Brandon Kaho may be ready to step up and he's crazy athletic. Brining in Henry T would be a risk because it might mess up the chemistry.
