Jesus H, put him under the jail. That’s beyond reproach.

Good Lord what the heck was he thinking?
Just wasted his life, that poor woman and his own family
Think about the life his daughter would have had...the daughter of a multimillionaire pro athlete.
Now the victim's family will likely get every penny the Raiders ever paid him.

Police aren't stating that he will definitively be charged just because of how he was acting. They already know what his BAL was.
I know a guy who blew 0s and was still charged with dui. 6 weeks later those assumed positive urine/blood test results came back negative af for anything.
6 weeks, huh? "Assumed" positive"?
Care to walk this back today?

As far as already knowing what his BAC was, they'd have had to get a search warrant for the hospital records.
Why on earth would they have had to have a warrant if they had probably cause? I'd say that 156 MPH and odor of alcohol plus behavior obviously gave them that.
And even if they did, how long do you think it takes to get a judge's signature?

going that fast in a residential area is absolutely insane. Doing it while drunk is unthinkable. Its almost as if he was trying to kill himself and his gf. So fricked up.

He deserves life in prison. Ridiculous, stupid, lock him up and throw away the key. Feel so bad for the young lady and her family.
Posted on 11/3/21 at 1:24 pm to saban n bear
Prosecutor saying his BAC was double the legal limit, so .160? Combined with those speeds, and in a residential area.
What the frick was he thinking? Absolutely crazy. He's going away for a very long time.

This sucks. He was my favorite receiver out of that bunch.
I think he's a good guy that did something incredibly stupid without really thinking of the consequences.
That said, he 100% deserves the punishment coming his way.

He wasn't thinking. A BAC of .161 means he was probably blacked out drunk. I would bet he likely doesn't even remember getting in the car. This is beyond inexcusable. Going that fast in a residential area with a loaded and potentially illegal gun in the car means he's probably going to get close to the maximum sentence. There's no way he's out in two years. He'll be lucky to be out in 15 years.

What an incomprehensibly awful situation. I’m really saddened for the victim and her family, gah...what a tragedy and waste. I can’t imagine the anger and rage her family must be feeling, on top of the grief. I’m also just thoroughly disgusted and disappointed in Ruggs. He used to be one of my favorite players. Imagine having a dream life and throwing the whole thing away making a selfishly idiotic decision that was AVOIDABLE as hell. I feel like a lot of players get blinded by the glitz of being in the NFL and lack so much personal discipline because they’re young and stupid rich.

Also, if that was the case, WHY WOULD ANYONE LET HIM LEAVE THE PREMISES. Especially if he was out with friends. It’s not that hard to call an Uber or crash at a buddy’s place. I know we don’t know all the details, but I do know that it was absolutely avoidable, and it pisses me off.

Rumors are also that while at Top Golf prior to the wreck, he was served a high number of drinks.

I've always wondered about that. How "drunk" is .08 really? Is double that really blackout drunk? Guess I should get a breathalyzer to find out.
Either way, driving 156 MPH on ANY public road (much less residential) shows a callous disregard for human life. Drunk or sober.

I'm going to be pissed if he doesn't get the max 20 years.
Anyone this stupid doesn't need to be in society.
The girl died a horrible death. I only hope she was knocked unconscious by the impact.

Oh Top Golf is going to be brought into the civil litigation. They have the deepest pockets of anyone involved.

The tab reportedly shows that 16 shots were ordered. And the picture he posted on his Snap Chat around midnight (three hours prior to the incident) showed some kind of mixed drink so he was probably drinking other stuff, too.

I doubt very seriously she survived the impact. Ruggs was traveling close to 130 MPH when their cars collided. Even with a seat belt on, the trauma caused to the body from an impact that violent would likely be enough to shatter every bone in her body as well as stop her heart.

But Ruggs and his passenger survived relatively unscathed. They would ave been exposed to as much force from the front (against airbags and seatbelts) as this person was from the rear. Maybe the front facing safety equipment makes all the difference?
That AU sports caster and his wife died by a crash from the rear, though I don't recall the speed/details. Maybe we're less protected from the rear than we think.

The Brambletts suffered neck fractures. I stand by my assessment of their accident as the head restraints ( most people inappropriately call them "head rests") in their Highlander weren't able to protect them from the rear end collision, as the jeep hit them slightly off center.
A head restraint is designed to keep your head from snapping backwards in a rear end collision.
The Brambletts accident was caused by the idiot going "only" about 65 mph, far less than Ruggs' speed.

I mean I get it, I understand it better than you think. However still dude what the hell are you thinking???
His baby mama is dumb too. She should be the first one to tell him to slow down and don't drop "her" bag.
Dude just blew his life and harmed his family emotionally, mentally and financially.
Same for the poor victim.
