Roll Tide!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Although we always traveled back to Alabama for Thanksgiving we now live in Alabama again and are celebrating this Thanksgiving in our own home; oldest son and family are down; brother and mom heading up from Birmingham for the feast!
Took our grandson the game last Saturday. His first game in many years; glad we were able to keep that promise.
Best to all!!!

Happy Thanksgiving from sleepy Caledonia, Mississippi.
Just spent 45 minutes trying to find a store that sold alcohol.

We have a lot to be grateful for both in our personal lives and as fans of a football [and other sports] program which has experienced unprecedented success over the past dozen years.
I saw the video linked earlier of a time around 2008 capturing Dixieland Delight. I can't believe how much has been done to the stadium since that time. Everytime I walk to the stadium, I marvel at what it's become. Last weekend was a perfect example. 3/4 - 4/5 full with people of all walks of life, brought together for a beautiful fall day.
The Brand is bigger than anything I would have imagined. I've traveled much of the world and met Alabama fans everywhere I've gone. I've met several parents over the years, from all over the country who's sons and daughters want to come to the University, a destination located in many of our back yards.
And overall, we are safe from many of the problems in the world. Here's the owner of the 'The Heart of Dixie' in Old Jerusalem grateful he is safe...
Hani Imam, a Palestinian Muslim who attended the University of Alabama in the 1980s. When Imam returned to Jerusalem in 1994, he said he felt homesick for Alabama. “I really enjoyed country life,” he said, the beautiful nature and the open spaces. When his father gave him the family business -- a walk-in-closet-sized souvenir shop wedged between the Jewish and Christian quarters of Jerusalem -- he named it the Heart of Dixie, he says, “to keep Alabama in my mind.”

I think there’s a path to profitability for newspapers in the state if they only published and delivered the special sports section that was the Iron Bowl preview every year.
I get nostalgic thinking about it. When I was little I’d wait all day to finally get a chance to read it after the thanksgiving meal, after it was creased to hell from being passed around all the uncles.

Growing up the Iron Bowl was bigger than the Super Bowl
