So Ty's performance last night impressed you, vs Jalens? People are just trolling now
Why can't it just be Ty impressing on his own and not "vs Jalen"?

quote:what was it that was so impressive to you? was it the poor accuracy, the bad pick he was bailed out of? The almost tripping on himself in the backfield with no one around him? Look i dont think Simpson is bad and i think if he had to be the starter we woudl be fine, but lets not act like if Milroe put up that stat line people wouldnt be calling for him to get kicked off the team and then executed behind the equipment shed

He didn't take any snaps with the first team vs Milroe taking all of them. Not sure why you insist on comparing them.
What's impressed with Simpson is what's always impressed me with him. He's a natural passer and accurate. Side stepping this pressure and making a great throw at 9:43 ( YouTube ) is a nice play and is just a flash of what kind of player he could be.
Not sure why it's such an issue for you.

Digging deep into the reserves, but I think Roq Montgomery is a future stalwart on the OL. He put a few people on the ground last night at RG, dude built like a Blastoise.
Conversely, Joseph Ionata needs to go to a shipyard and find his anchor. He's a freshman, but he got bullied on run plays. Ionata almost had a TFL on Daniel Hill because the DT pushed him so far back.
Josh Cuevas at TE looked good blocking and showed a lot of effort on that catch and run for a 1st down.

Jalens performance was nice stat wise but man he still holds on to the ball long as hell. I know there are guys open he just cant find them.

Jihad Campbell and Qua Russaw

To me I thought think he sees it, he is just not as confident in his accuracy on certain throws sometimes to pull the trigger and/or he doesn't trust what he sees and doesn't pull the trigger and then the window passes.
My biggest concern and maybe I missed him doing it, is presnap I didn't see him identifying linebackers, safeties, potential blitzs, it seemed like that line was doing it, but I could have just not been aware enough to see it.
It could also be the system and it is not as much his responsibility , but being strong and knowledgeable presnap can really benefit the QBs confidence and decision making post snap.

The similarities end at their race and position. As you say, they couldn't be more different in play style and talent.

You act like Simpson stole your girlfriend and you still haven't gotten over it. Simpson didn't play most of the game. He didn't have 1st team O line for all of the time he played and he didn't have 1st team WRs for some of that time.
He had at least one pass (maybe two) that was very catchable and were dropped or they couldn't come up with the catch.
Moreover, the game was pretty much in hand by the time he got in and the play calling was smidge more conservative. Not surprisingly, his stats weren't gaudy.
Also, yes, he kind of got tripped up but regained his balance. I'm guessing no other player in the history of college football has lost his balance temporarily. He DID score on that play, so I;m not sure why you're whining.

Still think we should give Mack a run at backup. Don't know if you can win with a running QB at backup.

James Smith was batting passes down all night. If he can keep that up along with Russaw getting into the backfield, They could be a nightmare for pass heavy offenses.

Ty Simpson drove the ball with the second team offense easily. That's what I'm impressed with.
I'm also impressed with the fact that when he comes in...Ty will spray the ball and what I mean by that is a lot of guys will get the ball thrown their way. He opens up the entire Kalen DeBoer offense and that's just my honest opinion concerning him.
I think we would be in contention to win it all with either quarterback.
No hate towards Jalen Milroe. I love him too. He played extremely well.

Jalen had two passes that were the differnce in his stat line and that of Ty.
Two on the Ty side were passes that should have been caught which would have both being at 7 of 9.
Two of the passes on Jalen's side were not "on target" but resulted in the yardage difference for the two QB's. 1st throw to RW was under thrown, RW had to slow down then restart to get back up to speed. Granted, a little under thrown is better than a little over thrown (unless there is a good safety in the mix). The 2nd throw to RW was too high. A better safety and RW gets broken in half and/or the ball if up in the air to be picked.
Both guys had a good showing. Both have room to imrove. Jalen is the started and did not give Ty room/opportunity to take the job from him. That is what you want your starter to do.

Austin Mack isn't going to let him. He was impressive last night.

Yeah man the coaches are definitely going to sabotage the backup QB and play the inferior player and risk their multi-million dollar jobs because "reasons".

He’s probably one of the ones hoping that Ty would transfer after the spring. Yes, there were people who were supposed Alabama fans that were hoping for Ty to leave after the spring. No way that some of these people are real fans.
