Carson beck turning into turnover machine really hampered them this year.
Losing Bowers and McConkey really, really hurt them. Those guys are somehow underrated in what they meant to UGA's team from '21-'23.

Carson didn't play great, but Ray Charles might have caught the ball better than that receiver room for UGA.
Kirby and staff did a very poor job of receiver evaluations.

100%
Even their portal guys had to be dismissed for beating up their girlfriend.

Stetson too. He might have not been the best, but he wasn't going to lose you the ball game. He knew where his bread was buttered and was a gamer. Now... with all that said...should BAMA ever have lost to that midget? No.

Ole Stetson had football savvy and was a winner. He might have some other issues outside the lines but on the field, he was a winner.

Stetson was born the same year as Lamar Jackson. Being old can be a substitute for being good, which it was for him.
Posted on 1/7/25 at 10:45 am to JoseyWalesTheOutlaw
But you know he should be 0-3 vs BAMA with ONE ring instead of 1-2 with two.

UGA tends to piss down their leg when they see those Crimson headgears runout of the tunnel.

I thought for sure ND would add block numbers to their head gear for the game.

He was Georgia's version of AJ McCarron. Maybe not the most freakish athlete on the team but on the rare occasion UGA lost, he wasn't the reason. To this day, out of all the QBs Saban had at Bama, if I needed one QB to win a big game it would be AJ. Dude had ice water in his veins when the chips were down and the game was on the lime.

Quite a pair of coconuts too.

In 2021 when Bama beat UGA in the SECCG Bennett had 2 INTs, one of which was a pick 6.
In 2020 when Bama beat UGA at home 41-24 Bennet had 3 INTs.

Give me Bryce. He's probably the only Bama QB that would pull off that drive to tie the game in the 2021 Iron Bowl. In fact, he may be only QB period. On top of that, the entire drive he looked like he was reading a theology textbook. Dude is the calmest human under pressure I've seen play at Alabama. He had multiple drives this year for the Panthers to tie or win the game in the last minute or OT.

Tua and Bryce my favorite Bama QBs in the last 55 years. McCarron with limited talent attributes, deserves a special place too; a great competitor. Russell maybe in the Tua/Bryce league.

At least 3 of them were tipped, one was picked by a d-lineman, and the pick 6 was in the 4th qtr of a game uga was down 2 TDs. Didn't really cost uga the game. It was over already.

Most of their problems are scheme.
UGA literally caught lightning in a bottle with Todd Monken. Much like LSU did with Joe Brady. Kirby won back to back CFP Titles and thought he could hire his buddies to keep the train rolling.
Their defense has fallen off the last two seasons as well. Guess Lanning>>> Glenn Schuman?

Saban hired Kiffin to change his. Then had Sark take it next level. Kirby isn't going to do that.
Kiffin (2014-2016)
Daboll (2017)
Locksley (2018)
Sark (2019-2020)
That is the progression at OC. I am sick and fricking tired of shitass Kiffin getting way more credit than he deserves. He did a GREAT job with Blake Sims. He also screwed so much stuff up in three years that he was FIRED after the CFP Semifinal versus Washington in 2016.

Yep. They had pretty good NFL rookie seasons. Mismatch players.
ETA: and pretty easy throws for a 25 year old college QB (Bennet) to TE and slot receiver.

This … Kiffin is a great offensive mind but he can’t divide the fishes and feed the multitudes or raise the dead and people talk about him like he can. Plus there’s the fact that he’s nearly 50 in chronological age but has the maturity of Pee Wee from “Porky’s.”
