Obviously in the minority, but I don’t really care what any former player thinks or says, or expect them to constantly be biased towards Bama. I remember Ohio State fans got so mad at Kirk Herbstreit for the same reasons (but their fans were even worse) to the point the dude had to move his whole family to Nashville. Lmao

We're going to be #10 and Greg is a sellout

Seems like he may wake up this morning like after a few drunken texts to someone and feel like he may have went a little too far. Or maybe not lol

People are going crazy here thinking that you’re supposed to be loyal to your alma mater to the day you die. It doesn’t work that way. It’s like people thinking Finebaum dresses in orange when the cameras are off.

Jacksonville State is my alma mater. I’m proud I graduated from there. I root for their football team. But if while I was working, I found out incontrovertibly true evidence that would ensure that the football program got the death penalty, I’d write it without a second’s thought. Because that was my job.

I’m not expecting Greg to white knight for us. I don’t expect Rece Davis to either. McElroy’s problem is he goes out of his way to appear to be unbiased towards us and that’s been the case for years. He was making clownish arguments last night.

Maybe. Or maybe he said what he believes.

If we get in, fine, but I don’t think it’s a damnable injustice if we don’t and I don’t think McElroy’s comments will have any influence whatsoever.

My .02 is he got a little excited after the heat of the game. It happens.

He has to appear impartial or he loses all credibility and with the amount of Bama hate he faces that must be difficult to establish. Benefit of the doubt says his espn masters told him to sell smu since they are cornered into an impossible scenario given the way the game played out and smu’s lofty ranking. Had they been ranked 13 or 14, Bama would still be in. Dumb move by the cfp committee.

If that were true Booger and Spears would be riding on the back of a garbage truck today.

Impartial means treating all sides fairly. Greg has never once stepped up to the plate for Bama. He would argue a 7 loss UAB is more deserving than an Alabama.

If you want to see a talking head who is truly impartial, watch Reese Davis.

Yep,. Some of you folks take this shite too seriously.

It's not Greg's fault that they shite the bed against Oklahoma. The fact is, if they don't get in, it's no one else's fault but theirs. Doesn't matter that SMU has zero wins in the top 25 and played a joke of a schedule.

It 100% would if the roles were reversed and Gingeroy would have no reservations about hammering that point home.

And I think there ARE some people who expect McElroy to be our advocate. That’s unfair.

I dont expect him to be our advocate, but for whatever reason I respected him and expected him to have better opinions than the other idiots on TV.

But on Tuesday night before the rankings came out, he fully agreed with Booger that Miami would and should get the nod over Alabama. Either he has the same dumb opinions as those around him, or he is a pussy and afraid to go against the grain on his network.

Again that may be his sincere opinion. One which I strongly disagreed with BTW in that instance. I actually thought he went overboard last night. But it’s not a done, written on Mt. Sinai tablets deal that we should be in because we didn’t take care of business. It’s like Coach Bryant said about whether Nobis stopped Namath, you need to leave no doubt. You shouldn’t have to justify.
