Losing Malachi and Burnip hurts. Hopefully we get them both back by LSU.

Let's not look past Tennessee just yet. They're still a very talented, experienced team. Likely going to be 5-1 and borderline top-15 coming into town soon.

If we get their best game, it's going to be a 4 quarter fight again.

We have missed the Dawg at MLB lately.

It is without a doubt the most important feature to any Saban defense. The MLB has to be an alpha. They set the standard for everything in this system.

No way - and after last year that game is circled. And this team can't look past anybody, including Arkansas.

Just don't think we'll see Malachi healthy by then based on the reports. Seems like LSU is the best case scenario post-bye week.

Tennessee still scares me simply because of the implication of actually losing the game but we should be ok in that one. I just hope we don’t get too overhyped for it.

The Milton I know should struggle vs our defense but also a guy that talented is always due to play out of his mind vs Bama. We’ve seen it before.

If Florida could run Tennessee out of the stadium at home then we have no excuses tbh.

Milroe made throws I didn’t know he had in him when it comes to precision. That 3rd and 14 dime to Burton in the endzone was incredible. Went through his progressions while under duress…then throws a strike slightly off his back foot. Big time

Incredible throw, I actually thought the throw to Burton on the play he fumbled was even more impressive. He went through his progressions and fired an absolute rope to Burton.

I knew Jalen was athletic and had a huge arm. I did not know he had the ability to make some of the 10-30 yard throws with the level of accuracy that he did yesterday.

He's still gotta figure out short stuff (because if we can unlock that then we are in good shape), but he made some elite level touch throws yesterday that I did not think he had in him.

I was actually pretty nervous about it until this past Saturday. Tennessee is kind of a poor man's Texas A&M on defense. Sturdy up front, aggressive, will dare you to throw over their heads and love to get you in 3rd and long. They do it with good players up front but nothing across the board like A&M does. And the way Jalen threw it around the field and the OL blocked (in non 3rd and longs) was very good to see.

Combine that with our DL against the run and ability to get pressure with 4 and I feel much better about that game. Not to mention a competent defensive playcaller and Milton's scatter shot throwing.

In simpler words:

You did not know that Jalen had that dawg in him

Honestly, I always knew he had that dawg in him. I didn't know he had that touch in him.

Hell he had 4 or 5 intermediate throws like that in the 2nd half

He made some elite throws last year against A&M. He's made them all year really. He just did it repeatedly and consistency on Saturday, and I will agree that a few of those throws were next level.

I'm repeating myself, but I don't think I have ever seen a QB have such a difficult time completing easy, short throws, but then complete difficult throws in a tight window downfield.

The throw to Bond looked easy too, but he was only that wide open because Milroe looked the deep safety off to Burton I believe. Safety cheated to Burton's side and Bond was all alone. Milroe made that play by looking the safety off, though. Nice progression.

I was watching a breakdown by Matt Wyatt and he was talking about how Milroe just flicks his wrist and throws 50 yards. He said there is maybe 3 people in college who can do that. He said it’s all strength. He said which kind of hurts him on the short throws he just naturally nukes the ball. If he gets some touch on short throws watch out.

Yea I was paying attention to this to. It seems like the wrist flip kinda causes Milroe to release a little to soon causing him to overthrow and sails on the shorter stuff.

He missed some but also hit several short throws Sat. like he’s been hitting since 2nd half OM. With the noticeable improvement he seems to be making half by half, it would be a surprise if the misses don’t dwindle.

Foot work on the short to intermediate throws would help him a great deal. He does not set an anchor point to start the throw and his follow-thru does not connect to the target.

Improve the footwork then the work on touch will have a better chance of sticking. Those are QB coach issues that must be addressed. Without the clean footwork his accuracy will continue to be hit or miss because the throw was not anchored.
