Mincey now probable
He hasn't been on previous injury reports, but he's been in street clothes the last couple games.

We could definitely use a deep safety with great speed this week. Not sure if Mincey is ready to go, but he kinda fits the bill.

Could be a sprain or pulled muscle

I remember when some were attacking KDB saying he was a fat slob, his shirts, etc..
Well KDB looks in great shape

Not gonna lie, the dude discovered southern cooking and was not prepared for what it takes to stay in shape when around it.

It's not that for me. He just came here wide-eyed and is learning in real time what the job means, the demand of it, etc.
Let's not only compare his waistline and clothing but his demeanor and utterances. The guy is much more serious, seems more driven and obsessed with details.
The entire "aww shucks" vibe seems gone when we get down 15 to FSU and storm back. That's all character and will and that comes from leadership. We as players have only so much, it's the HC that sets that tone.
EDITED TO ADD: I'm not the one who downvoted you.

Trust me, I am not concerned with downvotes. I agree that DeBoer got a different demeanor lately. He still says a lot of nothing in press conferences but that also keeps him out of the news in a bad way.

That's just "coach speak". 99% of coaches do it. "Loose lips sinks ships."

Same, just didn't want you to think I'm the kind of guy who can't accept someone has a different opinion and needs to voice my pain with a scary downvote

He cleaned house when he arrived. Even the rec bent down to him and became yes men. Probably couldn't come in today and do that, needing booster money for NIL and everything else. Saban probably fired half of the good ol boys (and girls) doing jack in the football facilities.

Jayvin James is officially out for tomorrow's game.

Miller or Brooks starting?

I’m gonna say this got DV’d by the two-three automatic down votes every post on this board gets, and the rest from people that just hate your internet self. But what you said is [or appears to be] largely true [let’s see how the rest of the season plays out].
And it’s not all that hard to comprehend. Guy moves from the D-League of CFB —> coordinator for a few years —> HC of Fresno State and Washington (say it again… “Fresno State” and “Washington”). Then shows up in TTown one day, as the best coach of all time is popping into a Mercedes to head back to the lake and sit on the dock and watch the ducks shite the yard. No fricking shite there was going to be a massive learning curve for Debo. This is like going from managing your local, small-town Pizza Hut to biggest C-suite office at McDonald’s Corp.
And he’s a lot more ruthless than people give him credit for. He gave the OL coach two years - gone. Safeties coach from Wisconsin got one (maybe 2?) years - gone.
But he’s also aware. Kept portions of the old regime that would be value-add for his program (Roach and Gillespie, recruiting wise at least. And S&C - which isn’t highly regarded here on the message boards, but they were with Saban and now CKD). Then went and took Auburn’s WR Coach (this was a BIG hire/replacement). Now with Klemm and the TE coach, and our running game looks like one of the best in the league after being utterly abysmal less than 12 months ago. I won’t even get into Courtney Morgan’s evals.
But yes, DeBoer looks different on the sideline this year. And I’m talking about his demeanor on the sideline during games - not the frickin shirt on his back or pants he chooses to wear for a game. He’s gotta a different fire - a real fire - this year. And it shows through the players. They are playing like some mean sons of bitches on both sides of the ball thus far. They’ve blown assignments and had lapses in technique, but this squad plays hard and tough - even in suboptimal situations.
Lotta words to say “you’re right - DeBoer seems dialed-in this year. More so than any other year. I think he’s not letting ego / stubbornness get in the way and rather, is learning on the fly what it takes to have success at a place like UA.”
This isn’t Fresno or UDub... Nevermind the X’s and O’s and gauntlet of playing in the SEC, just think about the lifestyle change it would take for one to make this type of career transition. Very, very few people here could make that type of career advancement and have the success he’s had in the amount of time he’s had, no matter the field of work.
Good work, Debo. Keep it rolling.
