What's the chance of him taking over as DC after Golding doesn't cut it?

Yes, zero. But only because he'll have already been promoted to head coach.

I'm thinking AD.

Of course, the situation is fluid.

Why would he be qualified for that? Unless it's in like 2-3 years

Why would we want a guy with no experience calling plays to replace a guy who sucks calling plays?

Getting young Alabama guys in here as coaches is a bonus, so no one should be too upset with that. 3 DL coaches in 3 years and look who's still coaching middle LBers? This is defying the laws of diminishing returns.

Coach keeps fixing stuff that ain 't broken.

Some people reuse to let people think they are complete morons. Instead they set out to prove it.

Keep your blindfold on, it's kinda scary out here in the real world.

Being a Steeler's fan I often take a look at some of their games. And I'm constantly amazed at their defensive line beating the hell out of their opponents. Lot's of things in life we can put in the "not sure" category. The fact that Karl Dunbar can coach Dlinemen isn't one of them.

so you think the D line coach was or was not a problem.

Our real problem, and you have the blindfold on if you wont admit this was all the pure freshmen was had playing on the D line and middle linebacker positions. I dont see how anyone in their right mind cant see that. Im sure Mr Saban does.

If you're a Steelers fan, you know one reason why their Dline beats the hell out of people. He's obviously too old to come home now, but this "Alabama guy", is as good of a defensive coach as anyone, anywhere. Period.

Then just ask. I'll break it down. Then you could have saved the rest of your comments until you did actually know what the point was.

The point was and is: We have gone through 3 DL coaches now in as many years. At the same time, we have invested mightly in our ILBer coach. The ILBer coach that has taken two preseason Butkus list players to somewhere they shouldn't have been. An ILBer coach that got promoted for his troubles as our DC. And that's long before we get to these 2 freshmen ILBers everyone is discussing today.

My singular point is, did we have a problem with our DL during Dunbar's stay? I wasn't aware of it personally. When I see Dunbar coaching today he has his DL playing winning football. So, why did he go? But then I didn't think we were having a fundamental problem with the DL coach this year and now he too is gone. In fact, and this is just an observation when I watched video, the DL coach at practice seemed tough on the guys if that means a lot. So here's our 3rd DL coach.

Meanwhile, Golding is still coaching up a position for the 2nd year in a row that I did see a lot of fundamental problems.

I know. I'm just saying the guy is a helluva coach and many younger Bama fans may not even know him.

I dont think there was any problem with Dunbar's coaching chops. Iirc, recruiting was something he didnt want to do. I could be wrong but I think Baker wants to go back to the NFL too, perhaps also due in part to not liking recruiting year-round so Saban moved him to off-field staff until he gets an NFL job and hired Roach to take over as DL coach.

Dunbar was never gonna stay in college, he was a quick fix after having to fire Bo Davis. He parlayed it into a perfect fit with the Steelers. Still wish he was at Bama TBH, best technician they had and has a rotational scheme that he still deploys with the Steelers.

Baker gets to save face by taking an off field job, it was a little late at this point to get an NFL job. He can spend a few more months at Bama and then see what jobs are available come next January.

How many times did we see Saban chew it Golding this year? How many times did we see him chew out other coaches that have head coaching jobs now. What does that tell you?
