I've wondered myself. Maybe some people resent him because he hasn't lived up to the hype. Which besides a few people, the hype was all about potential, IMO.
I suggested before that him being an FSU transfer plays a part in it. I don't know. I just know he has potential, is an in state guy, grew up a Bama fan, and is trying to win the job. Right now I like all of the QBs, I think we've got 5 solid options.

I don't think anyone hates Coker, many are just disappointed in his lack of development. It was understandable not winning it last season since he had just arrived on campus, but at this point this should be his team and he should be performing up to standards as a 5th year senior with lots of physical talent. It's not his fault that he struggles with the mental/leadership/consistently stuff but it IS very disappointing for fans and probbaly even the coaching staff. They didn't bring him in to ride the pine for two years, but that's close to being a reality.

It's quite obvious since I post on a message board I am not a coach and not at practice, just like you. However, I don't ever remember a 5th year senior ever locked in a battle he couldn't win outright with a bunch of freshmen and others who have never taken a real snap. This kid should have been able to lockdown the job in the spring with ease if he was even just serviceable but that has not been the case at all.

Minkah and Ronnie getting so much hype as Freshman reminds me of Coop's hype before the 2012 season. I never thought I'd see a Freshman WR be that advanced.

Me too. If they can help shore up the secondary than the D as a whole... I try not to think about it because I'm trying to keep my expectations for this season low

I remember when we lost him and ended up with Barnett.
Never thought I'd be happy with it then, but over time I think we all started to believe we ended up with the better option.
