John Parker said Tua made a play that would be hard for even a senior to pull off. Tua had the look off the safety until the very last second and really make the throw to Smith without even looking at him. JPW said he made the throw based on feel, and then had to throw a rope with very little air under it to keep the safety from getting to it. He said on a scale of 1 to 10 he would give Tua a 12 for execution on that play. Wilson said you have to remember that Tua doesnt get much time at all with the starters in practice which makes that throw even harder to pull off.

Great throw, but that was awful positioning by the safety.

Because Tua kept his eyes right till the last second. That was a NFL throw and all Tua.

I think one reason Nick put in so many freshman is because that's who Tua practices with.

You consistently have no idea what you are talking about.

He literally stared the safety down and then started his throwing motion to Devonta AS HE WAS SHIFTING HIS EYES TO HIM.

He didn't even stop to look at him before he started the throw.

GMAc on FBaum just said the difficulty on that throw on a scale from 1-10 was a 12.

He's not wrong. It was a great play by Tua, and a bad play by the safety. I can tell you that as a former DB. I don't think he could have gotten there had he played it correctly, because Tua looked him off so well and his ball placement was pinpoint, but he messed up bigly by staying on the hash. He was like 10 yards off from making a play instead of like 1 or 2. I think the action in front of him froze him.

I thought the corner for Georgia was more to blame than the safety for not even bumping Smith. That was a big time play by Tua. The safety also probably knew we run that post route deep in the middle of the field a ton.

Yeah, that was an error as well. Playing trap you need to get some sort of redirect to slow the receiver if he goes vert. I'd have to draw a picture, but basically the safety was held by things out of his zone of responsibility. Those two combined left Smith ridiculously open.

That said, they throw was so good, I think it's complete regardless.

Yeah, it was badass without a doubt. I'm just saaing the safety played it wrong as well, they aren't mutually exclusive.

No, it didnt really matter where Tua was looking. He was way too far in the center of the field to be playing cover 2.

Great throw, not lofted up, zipped out there like 45+ yards, bad positioning by the safety but doesn't reduce the quality of the throw at all.

I think they were still keying on Ridley. So Sanders was naturally drawn in that direction with Tua also looking that way.

Very tight throw, but a safety has to play deeper than that. Several ex NFL players have commented on it today that something like that should never happen in a secondary
