I would say it was more of a false equivalence. He didn't engage with your assertion that "true fans" do such and such, but rather overapplied the rules of "No true Scotsman."

Ty was rewarded for his ability to not turn the ball over more than anything.
Are you referring to his injury or suggesting both Mack and Russell were just better capable of running the offense more effectively last year and the coaches refused to play them?
Because while I hope you’re right that we have two guys who are apparently top 10 NFL draft picks, somehow I doubt they were outplaying Ty in practice and we just didn’t hear about it.
What I suspect is that Mack has Ty level knowledge of the offense (awareness) and one of the best deep balls since Mac/Tua, but lacks consistency in the short and intermediate accuracy department and that KR potentially can be BY level good in terms of accuracy and improvisation but is still coming along in other areas leaving the coaches to decide which gives us a better shot to win this year.

I also just don’t think Mack was clearly getting beaten out in practice or why would he have gotten the snaps in the Rose Bowl and then stuck around going into the spring?
What I suspect is the two were close with KR trailing or roughly tied going into A-Day and we saw a peak KR day and Mack was either hurt or just not sharp.
I just can’t believe Mack would’ve been around or be talked about by the coaches the way he is if KR was consistently beating him out and that’s coming from someone who thinks KR has a superstar ceiling.

Coaches said that after A-Day was over. We didn't hear anything beforehand that he was hurt. I'm not 100% convinced it wasn't KDB giving Mack an out for playing bad for his loyalty.
