My money would be on Texas. The offenses in the BIG10 are not good.

While I do agree with this sentiment, I do think that they are very talented unit. Milroe and our offense will have to be on their A game to get this one done.

From a sign stealing perspective, they are the best

Yea the question is HOW good Michigan's defense is. They are absolutely a good defense. They have NFL guys at all 3 levels, play smart and are well coached. Nobody should think just because they played a bunch of bad offenses that actually means they just suck.

We are gonna work them on the edges. They have a good DLine but those Big10 defenses can never match SEC speed.
Expect to see K.Law in motion, maybe Bond too. Milroe seems to be comfortable with that RPO action.
We are gonna stretch the field more than any team they played against. Milroe has a cannon and Burton and Bond can get deep. They'll have to respect that.
We should also see more of the toss action and wheel route we saw in the SECCG. The spread concepts should be favorable over the 12 personnel group. But with the way the OLine has developed they may think they can demoralize Michigan and run right at them.

Penn State is bolstered by beating up on bad B1G teams and the other two just don't have the talent. The fact that these are 3 of the 4 best offenses they have faced is wild.

B1G football right there.
Honestly this game feels like a throwback to one of those 2011-2015 Les Miles LSU teams.

They play power football for sure. Very different game from Texas and Washington.

Yeah, we need to get our speed at the skill positions in action. The surface at the Rose Bowl is kept very low and allows for speed to be applied almost like playing on artificial turf.

Our work in the trenches on both sides yesterday makes me feel much, much better about this sort of matchup than I would have in a while.

Hopefully we’re up for the challenge. After yesterday, I feel good. But I also felt good about Auburn and they ran all over us.

Michigan is definitely a good defense. The interesting thing is they basically played an entire schedule of teams incapable of explosive plays because of the talent gap. 9 teams in the BIG ranked in the bottom 30 of teams for plays over 20 yards. The only BIG teams that were in the top 43 for plays over 20 yards were Michigan (43) themselves, Ohio State (35) and Maryland (38), both of which scored 24 on Michigan. Bama is in the top 20. If Bama has the right game plan and Milroe runs when he needs to avoids the pass rush Bama can put up points.

I hear ya, but McCarthy is not as quick as Thorne and Michigans running attack is much more Les Miles/Big10 than Freeze/malzahn-style.

Agreed, and Lawson/Oatis looked much more healthy and in sync yesterday than they did in Auburn where they looked hobbled and rusty.

We’ll score 27 as is our birthright this year
Posted on 12/3/23 at 10:23 pm to SummerOfGeorge
You think Lawson misses his gap assignments from time to time because he so used to practicing against Williams, who’s missing his lanes
But yeah, they all looked looked pretty damn stout after that first drive.

Nobody is more consistent no matter the competition

You don’t want to mess with a winning formula. As a numbers guy SoG I’d expect you to know this. :)

Key was also not fully healthy for the Auburn game. We will also have Devonta Smith back to full strength. Hopefully Jase is ready to go. He tried to warm up before the game but couldn’t do much. Hopefully the extra rest and rehab helps.
