And it’s not like Mac Jones has tons of experience. Bryce Young could potentially have two games under his belt going into UGA. That’s how much experience Mac Jones has. We need to put our best talent on the field. If Bryce Young is a better, more consistent passer, he should start. Period.

I can't decide if you're trolling. If you're not, you're at best seriously mistaken.

Mac Jones has three+ years in a collegiate program, with a full year of experience in Sarkisian's offensive system. Compared to Bryce Young, who has 0/0.

Mac Jones has three full collegiate starts / games under his belt, including one in the most hostile environment possible for an Alabama QB, along with a fair amount of mop-up duty in games. Bryce Young has 0/0.

According to Brad Edwards of ESPN, Mac Jones had the second-highest QBR in the nation for the last quarter of the 2019 season (3+ games), behind only Joe Burrow. Mac's passing efficiency rating for 2019 was 183.2, with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions during his three starts.

In short, Mac has proven himself capable of playing at a high level in the SEC, and by many accounts he has the trust of the team.

I think Saban already has Bryce Young in mind, I think he’ll win the job, and while everyone might be shocked, I think once you see him on the field, it’ll be pretty obvious

I'm not sure what coach you're referring to here, but if you've been paying any attention at all over the past 15 years or so, it ain't Nick Saban.

Yeah in which he threw 2 pick 6s and LOST

Lets not forget that Mac Jones LOST the Iron Bowl last year, and ensured that we missed the playoffs.

I’m assuming you all wouldn’t be happy with that performance in 2020, and are expecting him to be much improved?

I mean if you can’t beat Auburn, you sure as hell aren’t beating T Lawrence and Clemson

Again, I think all of this discussion is moot. Bryce Young is going to stroll into fall camp like a boss, and blow the doors off of Mac Jones

And this other guy has shown that he can by beating high schoolers?

In which he scored 38 points against the same Auburn defense that held LSU to 23.

ETA: Mac didn’t exactly make a pivotal block on Waddle’s KR TD.

Even with the pick 6’s, he came right back slinging. I think that is what most fans liked about Mac that night, he did not fold.

That game and this past season was more about our defense than anything.

If Bryce Young is good enough to start, he will. If Mac struggles, Bryce will go in. Basically arguing over it is dumb and the truth will out before our eyes. Saban learned his lesson with Tua, but Mac might just prove us all wrong and be the next Joe Burrow. As someone else said, let’s focus on the defense. That’s where the real questions are.

Yep. Our offense is gonna be fine either way. The key to this season will be improvement in the defensive side of the ball.

He also threw for over 330 yards and 4 TDs. He completed 26 of his 39 passes that night and had us in position to tie the game at the end. The two pick sixes hurt but he never gave up and kept slinging the ball all over the field. We put up more points on that Auburn defense than anyone else had all year.

That is after time.

We are starting the season with Mac as an insurance policy because we can't have him transfer leaving us with only Bryce and Tyson.

I do believe if Mac struggles, Bryce will be thrown in with the quickness.

I also believe Saban will try to have Bryce playing 1 to 2 quarters a game if possible.

Mac did not lose us the games.

Our horrendous defense cost us two games. I'm sure Pete Golding would agree with me on that.

If Tua had been healthy we sneak in a win but still lose a game.

Bryce has the opportunity to win over the receivers during voluntary workouts this summer during passing drills. Of course Mac has the same opportunity. The 7 on 7 workouts this summer will be huge for both guys especially since there was no spring ball.

It will be Jones to the rescue. With that dynamic in mind, the real look we will see evolve is a smart and tough running game. It will have immediate benefits for our defense and the overall toughness of the team.

I also doubt we ever see another QB airmail a gameplan like Tua during the Nike Saban era. It was pretty and it was expensive.

I think we will see the gameplan evolve some to be more balanced with a healthy Sanders to give us a 1-2, thunder and lightning combo with Najee, but I don't think we revert to ground and pound. I think it will be more of a 45/55 run pass balance, with more emphasis on the shorter routes and a little less intermediate and long throws. That will play more to the offense's strengths this year at every position.

If Bryce is as good as we expect him to be he'll be the starter for next season.

If Mac plays well he will be going to the NFL. If he doesn't, Bryce replaces him.

I don't see how you can derive negativity from this scenario.

YStar, there should be a discussion to why our defense lost the game in both games. Everyone want to focused on Mac Jones's game but no one wanted to discuss the defense, that made several critical mistakes throughout the game.

In Auburn two costly interception, one wasn't his fault. Young is still young and He may be ready to play on college level, but Saban isn't going to throw him into the fire and hope we learn as we go along. He did that with Jalen and whew... we had so many "rumors" and "distractions" for the last two years.
