Do y’all think the crowd boos if Jalen trots out first against Louisville?

Personally, I don’t think it matters because I feel like Tua will win the job by halftime, but will some people boo if this happens?

Edit: I’m not saying I don’t think it matters if they boo or not, because I would hate it if they booed.

I’m just saying whether Jalen starts or not is probably irrelevant because Tua is so much better.

I'm sure some people will and I will be embarrassed for them - being upset is fine but booing your own player is way too much.

I think we will know who to expect to see the first snap prior to the first series though. I am expecting to see both in that game in some capacity.

I don't want Jalen to but if we do we have retarded fans who don't know how bad this will hurt our public perception and recruiting.

Yea so how does everyone remember this going down in the past? Blake Sims got the nod a few days before. I think Coker never got an official announcement and just trotted our against Wisconsin. And the rumors that Blake Barnett getting the start surfaced on gameday

I'm about as critical as anyone could be of Hurts' play, but no way in hell I'd ever boo any of our players. Anybody that is out there trying deserves at least that much.

I will be extremely embarrassed for our fan base if that were to happen. That would be the ultimate display of ungratefulness, and spoiledness. And I would hope that any booers be publicly berated and called out by surrounding fans with more substance.

There will be some if that happens, but not nearly as bad as if it were a home game.

No one is going to boo Jalen. I'd be pretty damn angry if he does trot out there and even if I did boo in my living room it would never be towards Jalen. My boos would be towards Saban's decision. Jalen is not at fault. He's just doing his best. He can't help that he can't play the position naturally.

Which is why Saban will have his sanity questioned if Hurts is the starter. It will show that he doesn't mean it when he says the best player plays when sitting in the living room of a five star prospect looking for early playing time. It will mean he had either lost it in his old age or that he cares more about Jalen's feelings than winning football games. Recruiting will begin to suffer and it will signal the end of an era. A sad ending at what could have (should have) been. I personally think it is kind of scary that we are seriously having this discussion as if it is even remotely possible because we all know that it is possible.

How many of you were pissed at Gene Stallings for starting a senior Dennis Riddle over a redshirt freshman Shaun Alexander after Shaun eviscerated LSU in one half and destroyed our first string defense in practice all year. Starting Hurts over Tua for even one series is much, much worse than that.

It would not surprise me in the least, but I hope it does not happen.

I certainly hope not. Now, if he gets out there and overthrows or underthrows everyone for 1 or 2 series...? Not sure what to expect at that point.

I hope not. That shouldn't be who we are or how we treat our own players. The game being in Orlando helps. It isn't the casual fan who will book a flight, hotel, and stay in town for a few days. If this were in T-town, I'm sure some of that crowd would boo, but hopefully not enough to be heard.

I have posted that I think Jalen will start the first series and that there will be pre-determined series for both in the first game or two, and settled on Tua by the 3rd.

I am not so convinced anymore that Jalen will start. Tua absolutely deserves to start, even if both do play in the first game or two. No. It isn't really important in the big old scheme of things who starts as to who finishes, but still, it would be kind of a slap in the fact to the better player not to get that start. It's important to each of them, I can nearly guarantee.

All that said, if Saban actually does settle on Jalen Hurts, and imo it would have to be bizarro football world for that to happen, but if it did happen, some of those things you mention could actually come to pass, and it's near 100% that Tua would transfer. It would be really crazy if it were not Clemson, Ohio State, UGA or another team that ended The UA Dynasty, but one of our own players.

That won't happen. It will be short passes and designed runs so the receivers will be blocking dummies again. If the depth chart says: Jalen Hurts OR Tua then I give up. What more can he expect Tua to do in order to win the job? You know he won the team a long time ago.

He doesn't always hit those either.

But remember that Blake Barnett started the first game in 2016.

That's a hell of a lot more confounding question than how to pronounce Waddle's name.

The point is that there is no need for each player to get a set amount of series to determine who the starter should be. If Saban doesn't know who should quarterback this football team then dementia is setting in. Period.

I finally gave up wondering why Saban is still undecided.

I used to try to figure our all those deep arse philosophical and theological questions and finally decided that mortal man just can not fathom all the cosmic stuff, and that's where faith comes in.

I am trying to muster up the faith that this is not going to be Bizarro Football season.
