My main gripe with the presser is that he didn’t mention the defensive deficiencies one time. Mentioned the picks and the penalties numerous times but never really brought up the fact that our defense just let a true freshman QB, completing passes at a 50% rate, lead his team to 34 points. He has to fire Pete Golding. HE HAS TO

People continue to act like Adam Griffith was dogshit. The reality is that he was a pretty damn good kicker. He gets unfairly blamed for the Kick Six. What people should remember are the game-tying FG at the end at LSU in 2014, the 55 yarder vs. LSU right before the half in 2015 that regained the momentum, and 5 FGs at Auburn that same year, including a 50 yarder.

I wish we'd had him the last three years. Of course, we never would have had Tua and 26, but we's have damn sure made that last FG today.

LoL, I guess someone has to be considered our "best" kicker over the past 12 years.
Still part of the group that's missed the most FGs in college football over the past 12 years.
THE MOST.
Not a shite kicking team from a Southern miss, Toledo, Rutgers, etc. It is Alabama.

I think the end of game issue excuse was in large part to the issue to end the half. ...he took the blame for the end of the game issue. Got out charge coached on that play.

The gamble there by Gus was ...insane. Borderline stupid. You have your punter lined up as a receiver and your qb behind center...if Bama gets in the right place then Au has to 1) go for it but if they dont convert then Bama has the ball. 2) quick kick by qb but giving bama field position 3) rush to switch qb and punter and possible issues 4) delay of game.

There is just something that happens on the plains. Logic goes out the window when AU is good...ive said it before ...it's like a chessmaster playing a schmuck that is making illogical moves but dumb lucks into checkmate.

The keyword in what he said was "substituted". If the offense substitutes then the defense is supposed to be allowed the opportunity as well.

We subbed in our punt return team when they subbed in their punter. Then we saw the punter line up at wr then we tried to put defense back in...thats on us...not officials.

I just read on the Score Board some Twitter sports person said Butch Jones was the coach responsible for subs on PR. Oh boy if true...

Nah, I expect our coach to man up and discuss our effort, not complain about shite like that.

And, he basically said we should be given some "leeway" aka bend the rules because it was weird and different. We got schemed. Saying it was unfair is dogshite.

The substitution rule has nothing to do with scheme. They substituted, the defense is allowed to do the same.

No, that is not what happened, and that's not what Saban is saying happened. We were caught trying to sub a 2nd time due to their funky formation with the punter on the field but lined up at WR.

Saban didn't even argue that it was the wrong call by the red, he said that because of the strangeness of the punter on the field but not at punter we should have been given some leeway to sub back on our other unit.

What's bad is Gus knew we would absolutely no idea how to deal with the substitution. He knew that it would blow our minds just by changing up something so simple.

Yep. It was apparent to anyone watching this team was in disarray from top to bottom.

Pretty sure they had time outs left.

Officials gave us time to sub. That is when we sent in our entire punt return team.

Then we tried to send our defense back in and it burned us.

Great scheme/alignment by Auburn. Tip the hat to them on that one.

If that wasn't allowed, it's an unfair play that wasn't by the rules.

the 3 points Auburn was gifted at the end of the half ended up being the difference.

Ya'll some cry baby melting bitches.

You can’t even say that because even in high school, coaches taught us that if the opponent throws something at you that we didn’t prepare for, you just line up and deal with it as best you can. You keep your fundamentals and discipline like setting the edge but you just play football. These guys are elite D1 football players, most of whom have been playing their whole lives. You mean to tell me you couldn’t have kept the punt return team out there and had them line up to cover Gus’s little formation until they shifted out of it or called timeout or something? They damn sure weren’t going to run a play; that would have been suicide. That’s being too specialized when your punt team can’t handle a trick alignment by the punt team so you try to run the defense back out there.

I ask you: could the punt return team have done any worse than the defense if they DID run a play?

Before the field goal miss I saw Saban walk up to Bulovas before commercial to talk to him.

Knew it then he was missing the kick.

I couldn't see the return guy, but if he was trying to get off the field, then I don't see where Saban is wrong.
