Even grandpa Saban couldn’t save us. He knew this and retired. You can’t recruit and keep 5 star depth for more than a year anymore.

The only players on this offense responsible for wins other than Simpson are Deboer’s players from Washington.
Then that's their fault. Cuevas is awesome. So is Horton. Why is jam the starter? That's on the coach.

Oh ok lol. I just don’t think there is any coach that can maintain a dynasty anymore. Kirby will maintain 10-win seasons probably, but even Deboer and Kiffin are capable of that.

Jam is our best pass blocking RB. Cuevas is awesome, but we don’t utilize TEs enough. Tonight is the first time I saw them getting more than a few looks.

He hasn’t even gotten his players in yet.
DeBoer's quick ascent in FBS was due to a lot of winning with other dude's players. I'm beginning to think his brand of ball is disinclined to work like it did in the MWC and late Pac-12 in a major power conference. We've been winning games by the skin of our teeth despite playing very disjointedly since the 2nd half of the Georgia game. It's a repeat of 2024 but this time we have an solid college QB instead of a glorified WR playing QB.

If a coach doesnt have his players in yr 2 in this era its his own fault.

Deboer’s also in a conference way more elite than the PAC-12 and has learning to do. Saban didn’t dominate at LSU. Other than their championship season, they had one 10-win season.

They’re freshmen, and the freshmen playing have done really well.

People like to dismiss that Michigan game because it was a meaningless bowl game but today felt a lot like that. Should’ve come out with our hair on fire after the loss last year. Instead we come out of the gate playing skiddish and throw up on ourselves.
We dig ourselves out of a hole but then suddenly the offense disappears when it’s time to be clutch. Then lose a game we shouldn’t lose.

Saban won two SEC Titles and a Natty at LSU in five years. But I guess other than that…..

So DeBoer is about to lead an upset win in the SECCG against a national title contender. Thats what Saban was doing in year 2.

And who else in the SEC was worth a shite during that time aside from Florida?

Tell me how elite the SEC was at that time.

I am not being emotional. I think that DeBoer has got to finish 10-2 or the whole relationship is going to start getting frayed here. Imagine him getting knocked out of the playoffs by going to a headless Auburn and losing how they've been shown to lose games in their first two seasons here. You think everything is going to be copacetic between him and the fans ... and more importantly him and the big dollars funding his salary and roster?

Now we’re discounting Saban’s accomplishments to excuse DeBoer. Yikes.
Tell that to the Tennessee team he beat in 2001.

Not discounting. Just saying our expectations are too high. Saban jumped ship for a reason. The game is tougher now.

For a NAIA coach and a Sunbelt staff, yes.

You can’t play to the opponent every week and expect to make a playoff. Unless you’re Kirby Smart.
