I think that's what we'll probably do from the get go. Try to run clock with the running game, which should also open up the passing routes, especially if they have to cheat up to stop the rush. I doubt we want to get into a scoring match with them unless necessary. I surely think Tua and these receivers are capable of scoring more than Ole Miss will, but hopefully we'll be able to pound it and keep their offense on the sideline.

I concur.

I'm kind of tired of hearing about Bama's supposedly weak(er) defense.

Look at these first half drive charts for Louisville and Arkansas State (presumably before we started sending in reserves, cheerleaders and band members):

Louisville
4- 20 PUNT
3- -1 PUNT
8- 49 (INT)
6- 31 PUNT
4- 20 PUNT
3- -6 PUNT
1- -2 HALF
---------------
Alabama led at halftime 28-0
Louisville crossed midfield once
Louisville never entered Alabama's red zone

Arkansas St.
3- 4 PUNT
7- 36 PUNT
3- -7 PUNT
5- 26 PUNT
3- 6 (FUMBLE)
3- 0 PUNT
2- 15 (INT)
10- 56 DOWNS
6- 32 HALF
---------------
Alabama led at halftime 40-0
Arkansas St crossed midfield three times, one of those ended exactly at midfield
Arkansas St entered Alabama's red zone once when already down 40-0

TL;DR Bama's going to wax some Reb anus

Will probably see Ole Miss put up a few drives early on, but the defense usually rises to the challenge when people doubt them. Fans and the media are saying this will be a shootout, which can be interpreted as an insult to the defense.

My biggest concern is that against Louisville we didn't get consistent pressure with just a 4-man rush. We had to blitz, which isn't great when you're facing a receiver/QB group as skilled as Ole Miss has.

Bama has to stop any form of a running game from the get go. Make them pass and hope for the best. The pressure is going to be on Tua and the offense to score points early in this game and often. If the DB's can avoid making big mistakes thus allowing easy scores then we might be OK.

I admit that I have only halfway watched our two games this year, but I am not feeling too concerned about the defense. They've looked pretty salty when its mattered so far.

Maybe. I’m just not sold on them being any more than they have been since Freeze got canned.

I'm right there with you. I never believed Ole Miss would put up points on Alabama.

Mack Wilson tweeted “NWO, nobody was open!”

Too funny.
