Ta'amu and those receivers know how to ball

Should be a good barometer for where we really are on defense

I ain't scared, but I'm slightly concerned

Hope the new guys get some help up front, pass rush has not been very lethal so far

I'm not scared we will lose but I am scared for my mental health. My body isn't built to handle crazy 57-35 games, even if we're up multiple scores most of it.

I'm gonna need a cold tub

OL definitely needs to gel more if this becomes a shootout

Olé Miss has played against two bad defenses.

The LandSharts defense gave up 41 points to an FCS team yesterday.

Yes. And Ta'amu and the receivers lit both of them up. They execute. Throw and catch well.

That's the point. They'll be a better test on the road than LV or ASU.

They're bad. Has nothing to do with the thread.

no more tested then this last game. They had a good QB and WR's who did drop some balls.

I disagree that Arky st's QB and receiver group are as good as Ole Miss

They were good, though, and they moved the ball, too

Arkansas State is very good at what they do. Ole Miss is good at what they do and they have NFL receivers and a very good SEC QB with a NFL arm.

Yes, and they had chances to move it more.

There is a spot in between "we are going to lose" and "we'll shut them out". That's very firmly where I am.

Arky State put up 680 yards against a bad FCS team in week 1.

OM put up 630 yards against a bad FCS in week 2.

I don’t know that we can really say that there is that much difference yet. So far OM looks a lot like last year.

I expect the game this week will go a lot like the first 2 for Bama.

I do not put too much worry in the defense based on Arky State. Other than the prevent at the end of the half, they had 1 possession that crossed the 50 in the first half. Those offensive stats came largely when they were down 40 points or more. It may hurt the team stats, but they ar otherwise meaningless numbers on a screen.

Ole Miss also put 546 yards on a P5 team in week 1, granted one that plays poorly on defense. They have NFL receivers and our biggest question mark is the secondary.

I do not expect to hold them to 7 points.

They also dropped or over/under threw quite a few balls. They had receivers running open a lot. Their first half execution on offense was pretty bad.

I'm not saying Ole Miss is going to put 40 on us, but there are a lot of factors to make me think if they play well on offense they will move the ball and score some points.

Maybe. I’m just not sold on them being any more than they have been since Freeze got canned.

Bama will be able to name their score against the Ole Miss defense.

Ole Miss won't score more then 30 against Bama, probably less then 20. They only managed 3 points last year, with those same receivers.

They were still figuring out that offense with Longo and Ta'amu has been light years better than Patterson was. They were coming off scoring 16 pts against Cal last season. They'd score 55 against those guys this year.

No reason to make them into Oklahoma, but let's not trick ourselves into thinking they are Vanderbilt either.

Do you even football, bro? Ole Miss has three receivers who will play in the NFL. In fact, its probably the best group in the country.

Comparing them to Arkansas State is kind of retarded.

Ole Miss has very good receivers but Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith, and Waddle are pretty good themselves. Bama defense is light years better than OM defense. The RebelBearSharks will score some points but unless Tua just has the worst game of his life, then Bama wins by 3 scores.

I'm all for respecting your opponent, but many are forgetting 2 things:

1) Ole Miss had 210 and 167 yards rushing in their first 2 games. That ain't happening versus Bama.

2) The Ole Miss QB is going to have A LOT LESS TIME to operate versus Bama than versus their previous 2 "opponents."

If your point is "We're gonna win because their defense is so bad", then I agree

That's not what the thread is about

If that's not your point, then I'm not sure, no
