D. Hill second fumble and MSU player with no helmet

Was this discussed on the game thread? His helmet comes off almost immediately, even before the handoff. He is not allowed to continue after that initial contact. He actually makes the tackle and prevents Hill from recovering the fumble. This should have been a 15 yard penalty and (I’m assuming) retaining possession.
• Non-Ball Carrier: The player must stop participating in the play immediately. They can only finish the immediate action they are already engaged in (like finishing an ongoing block), but they cannot make new contact, chase a player, or make a tackle.
• Continuation Penalty: If a player continues to play past the immediate action without a helmet, they receive a 15-yard penalty for illegal participation.

I thought they had changed this rule this season as I have seen multiple plays where this occurred and no flag is thrown across many games.
However I can find no proof where this rule was changed, so maybe I'm wrong. Looks like they just don't enforce it anymore

It is still the rule in HS for sure … not sure about NCAA

I was furious about this. But I have no clue if the rule changed. I doubt it had though.
Refs way to quick to decide possession and then a review without discussing the player with no helmet - who caused the fumble

I haven't seen it called one time this year, so they don't seem to be enforcing it at all

Only the lame and gay depend on technicalities. Hill fumbled. Everyone could see that. I don't give a frick if the guy that caused it had a hat on or not.
The fumble happened.
Ball was loose during the play.
We're going to talk about someone losing a helmet maing an effort play?
Yeah, be less of a pussy,

It was a shitty reply on the 1st post, didn't get any better with the second.

Rules are rules.
I bet you didn’t complain when our kicker, Talty, was hardly brushed by the MSU player after dragging his foot and flopped for the penalty. Worked in our favor, although it was soft and ticky-tack.

But to me the frustration lies upon the fact there are so many new rules, and rules introduced each season then later amended, that referees lose sight of what to actually enforce or remember what is/isn’t a penalty.
Plus SEC refs are inept already to begin with lol.
But that “no call” was a rather pivotal point in the game.

So, I guess if they had 12 players on the field it would just be a technicality? “But, but, we are Bama!. We should beat 12 at a time! Right, mama?”

No, that would be an obvious advantage, fairy. Losing your helmet during a play is not an advantage.
Are you slow?

Or “the pass rusher was less than half a step offsides (but technically most of his body was behind the like of scrimmage) and caused a sack/fumble. But we are Bama and should have still been able to block him if we weren’t so soft”

Obviously not. I'm not going to complain when some dumbass rule gives my team an advantage. I'm a fan. I can be a hypocrite. I'm also not going to dredge up some play from the second quarter that was objectively ruled correctly and bitch about a helmet being off.
There's a difference.
