in the team portal rankings. Georgia is at 62 and Auburn at 66th. Seems we are following the Indiana game plan signing pretty much all 3 stars.
Think our defense will be fine but really still concerned on the offensive side!
I would assume our punting will be a lot better too. Idk about fg kicker…Talty seemed to improve as the season went on but I think we signed another kicker from the portal.

I understand the concern with depth on the oline, but we have some quality dudes, just not as experienced. However, the blocking last year was so bad, I just refuse to believe that it will be worse in 2026. We need new blood, because last season wasn't it. Maybe I'm being naive, but oh well.

As far as skill positions, I don't see how anyone could be concerned there. If Russell is as good as we think he is then he'll win the job, and we should have a pretty damn good offense.

Replacing Chris Kapilovic with a good O line coach would go a long to improving the O line play.

IMO, desperately need a good edge rusher and probably two good defensive line guys (guys who would either start from Day One or would play a lot).

Chris Kapilovic
As of right now, the best case scenario is Kap moves to coach a different position; but he was actively recruiting for Bama recently....Will be interesting to see what moves Deboer makes to correct issues, if he makes any meaningful moves. My bet is he doubles down and digs in on where he is.

I mean I've been under the impression that we've been transitioning from Saban's road grader style to DeBoer's pin and pull scheme, and our guys have just not been physically nimble enough to get it done.

At this point however, I'm really back to wondering why we haven't had a dominant offensive line since, what, Joe Pendry?

Other than the random Jonah Williams and Landon Dickersons, our offensive line play has fallen off a cliff in the past decade or so (by prior standards), and it's baffling.

I think that’s the the best strategy long term. Player’s looking to increase their market value are going to work harder. They’re more likely to have that chip on their shoulder. They’re going to be more receptive to coaching.

Jeff Stoutland replaced Pendry and Mario Cristobal followed Stoutland. Both of them produced dominant OL's but it's been a downward trajectory since then

100% this. We are not far enough in to truly have a good system in place to rank this stuff. Focus should be on filling holes and trying to improve or at least maintain equal talent to our departing players.

Agree with this conceptually, but we did just sign a 6'7" 350 OL in the portal, so it seems to contradict what they've said they were doing. Won't know until this fall I suppose.

Did we pull Brooks out of the portal to be a situational short yardage player? Will he take over Proctor’s package of plays? His role isn’t quite clear to me.
