Jonah Williams deeming Quinnen a "300 pound bar of soap" will forever be one of my favorite quotes, it was even an image in my signature for the longest time.
Q was like a pup with huge paws, he just had to grow into his game. His motor is relentless, Jets defense is completely different when he's out of the game.

I'm optimistic that Damon Payne will continue to progress in 2023. He looked solid in his playing time this year.

I agree. If you see them on the field as backups the staff are trying to develop them.

Hopeful that Monkell Goodwine and Anquin Barnes will make strides this off season too. They look the part. It will be interesting to see how the younger linemen develop during the off season. Oatis, Perry, Hastings, etc. Will they improve or will James Smith just come in and jump them in the rotation?

Both of these can and probably will happen. Smith is gonna be nasty.

I'm excited to see if he lives up to his hype. He looks like a beast in his highlights. So does Russaw. Smith, Proctor, Keeley and Downs could all be day one starters.

Goodwine looks kind of small compared to our other lineman when you see him on the sidelines.

If we're talking small, Khurtiss Perry is small compared to the others. I'm interested to see how he's going to be used moving forward. He's a lot like DJ Pettway from a few years ago. Anquin Barnes is one that I'm wanting to see how he's progressing. Physically, he looks like a beast.

All-American Bowl: Top offensive performers
quote:
Justice Haynes
Haynes' performance throughout the week is going to stir plenty of debates come our final rankings meetings. Should there be a five-star running back or should there not be a five-star running back is the question. If the answer to that question is yes, then I have seen enough from Haynes this week to say that he is likely the guy. The Alabama signee's skillset is so diverse and he appears to have few if any weaknesses to his game. Everything we thought after a week of practice proved to be true come game time as Haynes was unstoppable.
quote:
Kadyn Proctor
Offensive lineman typically struggle early in the week due to the format of these events as it is the one offensive position that is forced to react rather than be reacted too. It takes a special player to thrive in the practice and 1-on-1 setting and a special player is exactly what Proctor proved to be The 6-foot-8 Alabama signee is a mammoth of a player and combines his dominant size with a level of athleticism that doesn't allow the setting to dictate his performance. Proctor is currently the No. 1 overall prospect at his position and may be hard to knock from his throne after this weeks' impressive performance.

Top Performers from a loaded Raw7v7 showcase in Miami
quote:
ALPHA DOG: Julian Sayin, QB, 2024, Carlsbad (Cali.) High, Alabama commit
It’s not often that folks in South Florida get to see what an elite arm looks like up close, so when a five-star starts spraying it across the yard, it becomes evident to everyone around.
Sayin was accurate to all levels of the field and flexed a big-time arm when throwing outside the numbers. There was no question to anyone at Little Haiti Soccer Park about who the best player on the field was and that’s because Sayin made throw after throw.
The future Crimson Tide gunslinger also showed some promising leadership characteristics as a guy who wasn’t afraid to be vocal about getting guys in the right spot or making sure he and his receivers were on the same page.
Sayin also competed all the way through, and while things were getting heated and exciting on one side of the field, he would go to the other to make sure guys on that side were getting solid reps in, even though that wasn’t where some of the big time dudes were lining up.

Best fit, most exciting, biggest surprise: Superlatives from the 2023 All-American Bowl
quote:
BIGGEST RISER: ALABAMA EDGE SIGNEE YHONZAE PIERRE
As typical for most postseason all-star events, there’s always going to be one or two prospects that exceed expectations with surprising on-field performances. This week that prospect was no other than Alabama Crimson Tide signee Yhonzae Pierre. Although it wasn't our first live exposure to Pierre in the evaluation process, the Alabama native caught our attention throughout the week as he was one of the most consistent prospects in attendance. Measuring in at 6-foot-2 ½ and 223-pounds, Pierre possesses an explosive lower half and excellent athleticism as a perimeter pass rusher. Between the Alabama signee’s combination of quickness and flexibility, the Eufaula standout proved almost unblockable at times during 1-on-1’s and the 11-on-11 team periods. A dynamic pass rusher that hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential, Alabama fans should be salivating at the idea of Keon Keeley and Pierre on the field together.

WELCOME TO THE ELITE: ALABAMA RB SIGNEE JUSTICE HAYNES
You might be wondering how someone who is currently ranked the No. 43 prospect in the country isn’t already considered elite but if there was any doubt before this week in San Antonio, Justice Haynes provided plenty of context as to why he should be considered one of the best all-around prospects in the country. Measuring in at 5-foot-9 and 200-pounds in San Antonio, Haynes was undoubtedly one of the most collegiate ready prospects in attendance this week. Although he had a very productive week of practice, it was Haynes’ performance on Saturday in the Alamo Dome that should have the Crimson Tide faithful excited for the arrival of one of Georgia’s finest. Displaying a little bit of everything this week, Haynes’ combination of vision, patience, and pure feel for the game is hard to overstate. A physical runner with no shortage of tools at his disposal, Haynes is arguably the cleanest prospect in the cycle.

BEST PASS BLOCKER: ALABAMA OT SIGNEE KADYN PROCTOR
Coming into the week as the No. 1 OL in the country according to 247Sports, Kadyn Proctor solidified his status as one of the best prospects in the nation this week. Although exposure prior to the All-American Bowl was limited, Proctor put any lingering doubts to rest with a strong outing in San Antonio. Measuring at 6-foot-5 ½ and 349-pounds with 34 ½ inch arms, the Alabama signee was sound on all fronts putting together a complete performance in both the run and pass in the 1-on-1’s and 11-on-11 team periods. A wide body athlete, Proctor is bullish at the point of attack that proved difficult to move off his spot throughout the week. Carrying his weight exceptionally well, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if we see Proctor get involved early in Tuscaloosa as he’s unquestionably physically ready for the next level.

MOST EXCITING: ALABAMA EDGE KEON KEELEY
It’s hard not to love the way Keon Keeley plays football. Seeing him in person only makes you appreciate the man they call the “Viking” even more. Measuring at 6-foot-4 ¾ and 240-pounds, Keeley backed up his status as the No. 1 defensive prospect in the country by dominating this past week’s All-American Bowl in San Antonio from start to finish. Whether it was size, speed, athleticism, or pure power that overwhelmed opposing offensive linemen throughout the week, there appeared to be no answers in stopping Keeley’s pursuit of causing chaos in the opposition's backfield. A graceful mover, Keeley possesses a rare combination of all the tools of an elite pass rusher you rarely see. Coming into the week as the No. 4 prospect in the country, it was hard to leave San Antonio without thinking we might have this guy too low.

So is Proctor 6'8'' or 6'5.5''?
Posted on 1/9/23 at 9:04 am to Sl0thstronautEsq
What's crazy is that one of the best lineman to come out of Alabama, John Hannah, was 6-2, 265 (at guard). Dwight Stephenson was 6-2, 255.

That was also a very different time. These kids today are bigger than that in high school.

Did they measure his hair? If so definitely 6’8”
ETA: I like all these bad measurements. Everyone gets at least 2 inches.
