Yup getting interior DL seems like the big need given the roster turnover in the 2026 offseason. Need a few of them Strong arse Offers ya know what I mean?!

He signed 4 once Only one of them turned out to be anything for us, but he turned out to be the best running back we ever had.

I remember that year vividly because I thought it was really stupid to bring in 4. I wanted Henry and Tenpenny and for us to tell Tyren Jones and Alvin Kamara to look elsewhere. Kamara was Kirby’s recruiting pet project he had to have that year.

He wasnt wrong. Could you imagine 2015 with Kamara catching passes on third down, spelling Henry?

He was definitely correct on the talent evaluation. Kamara was a knucklehead at that age though, which Kirby was always good for a few of with kids he specifically wanted. And Kamara was never going to play over Henry and was never going to be a Josh Jacobs type who waited his turn.

Not a bad idea to bring him into the fold but I felt like all 4 guys were going to see who top dog was and we’d only keep maybe two.

Tenpenny was a sad story.

Definitely sad. He was one of those recruits I had as one of the guys I wanted to succeed most. I think it says a lot how so many of the guys continued to honor him even in the nfl. He was obviously a team favorite.

It’s probably a deal where a friend is helping his buddy get more money out of Miami.

If I remember correctly Kamara went into fall camp ahead of Henry on the depth chart. I thought it was Yeldon, Drake, and Kamara until he hurt his knee in preseason and when he struggled to get back to on the field took a redshirt and his attitude became an issue.

Not saying he would have stayed ahead of Henry, but Henry only had 35 or so carries his freshman year as the other two Yeldon and Drake carried the load that season.

Henry has talked about being buried on the depth chart when he first came in because he couldn’t pass block or do anything besides run it. He told Coach Saban “in high school they just gave me the ball every play”.

He probably was behind him, but Henry was always going to be Henry.

Yup, IMO, getting at least one (preferably two) true DT or DEs would be the marachino cherry on this class. Hopefully, the Ruffin kid out of Bessemer and/or Elijah Golden out of Florida.

We offered an OT on Friday night who is committed to Georgia Tech. BOL says the offer is committable.

Bear Fretwell Junior Highlights

ETA: His highlight reel only has one play in it with him pass blocking.

Brent Key knows Oline well. Gotta be something there he sees.

Am I the only one that feel like this class is giving the vibes of the Ingram/Julio/Dre class?

It seems as if the recruits are very intentionally working together to recreate the Bama standard.

Kid is super athletic, he gets downfield with a quickness.

This make sense. Think it was Cubelic that said DeBoer loves athletic linemen that can run his pulling schemes.
