Auburn misplayed this big time and now behind on recruiting big time. There is no way for them to come out of this and think they will have top ten class by December.

The only explanation for their class that makes any sense to me is that the boosters are holding their money back to use on the portal. Otherwise Brother Hugh is quiet quitting on the golf course.

A friend of mine that is involved at Auburn mentioned this to me a few days ago. Hugh is bitter about how handcuffed he is by the boosters. Some believe that him playing golf is his way of saying “since yall want to do it all yourselves then have at it.”

Handcuffed in what way? His boosters are the only reason he’s getting recruits and his recruiting classes are the only reason he’s keeping his job.

Also, when you take that job it comes with the understanding that you keep the money marks happy.

So we are waiting on 3 more big fish, right?

Nolan Wilson
Tank Jones
Jireh Edwards

Do we have commitment dates for those?

If we got those 3 that put us at 20, anybody have an idea how big a class we are expecting to take? Any others we are expecting to commit?

Nolan Wilson is tomorrow,
Jireh Edwards is Saturday, and Tank Jones hasn’t set a date but the consensus is that he’ll announce late July/early August.

I've heard of delusional fans, but this one take the cake. They're trying to hide a huge elephant behind a tv, thinking nobody would notice the obvious. It's simple as that. Auburn misplayed this big time and now behind on recruiting big time. There is no way for them to come out of this and think they will have top ten class by December. They better get to work fast because if they lose one more commits to elsewhere, then it shows a lot about them.

Never say never in NIL era recruiting. If they are holding back their money for late flips, it could go spectacularly awry or end up saving their class. Hugh Freeze's cancer diagnosis probably looms over their recruiting right now. Sure, these days the bag is a big part of the game but kids are looking for scheme and coaching fit to help get them to the NFL. Freeze may retire from coaching abruptly if this cancer battle ends up being more difficult than he realized. If that happens, these 2026 commits may be reopening their recruitment late in the game when most schools have solidified their scholarship offers. For blue chips, someone will find room for them. For fringe power conference prospects, they may have just missed out on their opportunity to be in a power conference program for their freshman season.

While I'm delighted with the current class, I do hope we prioritize grabbing 1-2 big boy linemen on both sides of the ball (300+ lbers)

May not be many available unless we manage a flip, but haven't seen us in the mix for too many that chose to go elsewhere initially

Thinking the portal might be our avenue for sourcing more game-ready, big-bodied trench guys for next year

We need more IDL and Edge blue chips. That's about the only thing I can say even slightly negative about how this class is shaping up. Tank Jones would definitely hit on that edge need. However, I think we're going to need a lot of interior DL help in 2026. Perhaps post-House the market for starter quality DL won't be so insanely expensive and that roster turnover will be eased with portal in Winter/Spring 2026.

ATM is a big threat for Tank. They are supposedly offering a HUGE amount of money. The impression I get is that he wants to go to Bama, but we're not offering what ATM is. Hopefully, he comes our way.
