I would imagine some of that has to do with the recent explosive growth in women’s basketball. I see what they are trying to do but that sport still doesn’t have enough superstars to support more than a few teams. LSU, UConn, South Carolina and a few other schools will continue to be on a different level.
I too, would prefer to see more of it diverted to baseball. It might not make money, but I suspect if you get more winning and more support to fill up The Joe, it loses less than the other sports. Just my opinion.

Hope so. Gary Harris said Texas is coming with bags on a couple of these kids. But I have heard no other word saying they’re not signing with Bama.

Revenue is great but in Jan 2025 P&Ls for FY24 the Athletic Dept showed nearly a $28mil loss due to the football coaching transition that transpired in 2024
We'll see what happens over the course of this year though

Yeah, I think they decided to realize some loss for something or another in 2023 and/or 2024 to clear the runway for House Settlement paradigm.
