Please don’t get pissy when I ask this question but those that know is Alabama taking some of these kids because they are concerned about some of the other players that they are after not committing to Alabama or is this depth/developmental kids?

We have like 40 more scholarships to give out now. So you can basically pack your practice roster with 3 stars instead of walk-ons.

Thank you for response. If you can get some of these kids who may not be as physically ready to play as your 4/5 Star players but will stay in the program and develop until their junior year Alabama can be really special with plenty of depth.

I thought the SEC agreed to stay at 85?

The SEC is staying at 85 for at least this upcoming season.

Correct. For now.
These kids are in the Class of 2026. That has no effect on them for this season.
We aren't going to allow the Big 10 to stockpile 20 additional scholarship athletes while we stay at 85 moving forward.
The SEC will be at 105 for 2026.

Maybe leaving it at 85 so each guy can get a little more money is the play. 20 more guys getting $60-80K each can eat up a good chunk of the pie. Just throwing numbers out on the salary I haven’t done any math.

Saw where EDGE Khamari Brooks went with UGA instead of us today. From GA so would have been a pretty tough pull. I’d be perfectly content with Tank Jones and Jamarion Matthews at OLB in this class.

Rightly so. Stacking blue chips is the only reliable way to be an earnest title competitor and not an SEC East or Big Ten West schedule merchant type of contender from the past decade or more.
