Let’s be clear on this recruiting topic. First, Alabama lost several of its top 2025 commitments as the cycle wore on, due to other programs outspending and poaching them away. That’s going to happen again. Second, some of the best players from the past couple of classes have also been poached. And for the most part replaced by lesser players through the portal. That’s also going to continue.
You can bluster all you want about how the class is ranked, i.e. top 2 or top 5. But in the end, it’s about what remains from each class in year three or four of their college career. Whether you like it or not, in the end it all boils down to who can and does spend the most on their roster. That’s the present and future of major college sports.

Honestly - this is the wild west. It is absolute chaos. You can have verbals and invest a lot of time in them, only to have them snatched away last second with a bigger bag. When you have invested so much in recruiting only to have someone poach them, you can't help but have holes all in your roster... 5 linebackers but zero DL... 1 Safety, 1 RB, I OT, and zero QBs... this is the nightmare we are looking at until the powers that be offer guidance/rules

This is all true however it starts with signing top classes today. Where it pans out in 3-4 years is what it is. You’re not signing a 30th ranked class and magic it into a top class in the post mortem analysis all too often if ever.

Of our 4 Heisman winners, two of the four came from more than 500 miles from Tuscaloosa. One from California, one from Michigan. Yulee Florida is almost 500 miles.

My argument is not against recruiting outside of your 500 mile radius. It’s about doing your best to keep your state’s and region’s best players in the fold. Auburn is going to use this against us, telling the recruits and high school coaches that they are more interested in them than Alabama is. Eventually a narrative like that becomes reality.
Time will tell if this staff can stop the bleeding in this regard.

I don't know about "reality," but definitely "a perception." You want a coaches first call to be Alabama - not Auburn. You want the coach of a star to say, "We have got to get your tape to Bama." If it SEEMS you are disinterested, they may not have us first. I just don't think Deboer is deliberately avoiding Bama prospects - just the CURRENT list of prospects

Don’t know if you are a troll or ignorant, but Alabama is not bleeding in recruiting. They out recruited AU by a significant margin this year according to the services, which may or may not be meaningful. What’s more important is that Alabama has proven that they are much better evaluators than AU.
What’s even more important is that AU has not played up to their talent level because they’ve been poorly coached to this point.
If you are concerned about bleeding programs, go console/warn/cry to AU, not Alabama who is on a 5 game winning streak vs AU, who hasn’t had a winning season in half a decade as they descend into mediocrity and obscurity.

Auburn is going to use this against us
Good one sport.
A team with 4 losing seasons in a row and have lost 5 in a row to Bama
Hugh is coaching for his life in 2025. At some point the cow college might start looking at other teams beside Bama because the woods are full of teams better than their program.
Oh and F Inferiority Complex U at Lee County

This. Hugh has to beat Alabama and Georgia at home in 2025 or he will lose his job. Because if they go into Tuscaloosa in 2026 on a six game losing streak they will lose again because they don’t beat us in Bryant Denny barring a fluke game like in 2010. They’re a desperate fan base trying to stay relevant by employing trolls to spread propaganda about recruiting. It’s all that they have right now.

I hate being this guy, but I can't help it.
Under Saban, absolutely. The new staff hasn't proven anything.
Do we really want to use this argument after the season Alabama just had and missing a 12 team playoff?
You also pointed out how bad the Auburn teams have been that Alabama has won 5 straight over. Let's not forget the 21 and 23 Iron Bowls could have easily been losses for Alabama. The last good Auburn team in 2019 did beat Alabama. Going back to 2008, the best three Auburn teams that Alabama beat were the 2014, 2018 and 2011 Auburn teams. Basically, if Auburn is really good, they beat Alabama and it doesn't matter how good Alabama is, see 2017.

Are facts really that hard to accept?

Facts are that you cock suckers have four straight losing seasons and five straight losses to your arch rival. But keep coming back and talking $hit like you usually do. POS

Don't really care what anyone posts about me. I'm a big boy and ready to take the bullets. My only concern is how the Alabama program fares going forward, especially against the "school across the state".
Either my suspicions will be borne out or I'll have more egg on my face. It's OK either way. Not a damned one of us is always right.
