Whoever is recruiting and coaching these receivers is who we need.

Yea gonna bust your bubble and tell you we aren’t ever getting Brian Hartline from OSU. That’s his alma mater. OSU is gonna continue to get elite WR recruits as long as he’s there and they keep putting guys in the league.

Pruitt ain't coming back as DC.

I was listening to Bill King in Nashville yesterday and he had Kevin Hagan on. Not sure how connected he is but he has been on this show many times over the last few years regarding Bama. He said yesterday that the compliance office has cleared Pruitt and he would not be surprised if he is not the next DC. He also had other tidbits:

He would be surprised if Smith and Russaw did not sign with Auburn.

Talked about Mullen as possible OC but also mentioned Petrino (who he said everyone thinks is going A&M) might get a look.

And the big one was he said he would not be surprised if this time next year Lane Kiffin has been named the Alabama Head Coach.

Again, I don't know if this guy has any credibility, just passing along what was said.

It didn't go that great. AU wanted an official visit (recruits are allowed a second official of there is a coaching change) and all Freeze could get was a one day unofficial visit.

It may not have gone great, but I wouldn't read too much into them not taking another official visit there. I mean, they've been to Auburn multiple times, they can get to know the new coach without taking an official. Why spend one of your other officials on a place that close to home that you've already been to?

Wouldn't be surprised.

Heaven help us.

Looks like Petrino got the OC job at UNLV.

Rumors of several of our top committed players coming in for an unofficial this weekend. Seems a bit odd for that to happen on this particular weekend.

Unless they know a prospect is coming in that we all want to reel in...

Midwest Spotlight: Four prospects on Flip Watch

quote:

Kadyn Proctor

When Proctor canceled his remaining official visits and committed to Iowa at the end of June, his pledge appeared to be very solid. While a number of programs continued to pursue the nation's No. 1 offensive lineman, Proctor didn't seem to reciprocate that interest for a long time. That was until he opted to take an official visit to Oregon.

Then Deion Sanders was hired at Colorado and the Buffaloes put a full-court press on Proctor. Alabama, one of Proctor's original finalists, is probably not done sniffing around, either. I wouldn't be surprised if Proctor flipped, but my gut expects him to sign with Iowa.

Recruiting Rumor Mill: Latest buzz during a busy week

quote:

Justice Haynes

Haynes' father, Verron, played at Georgia and there have been significant rumors that he would still consider the Bulldogs up until the end, along with Ohio State - which some believed was the real contender to flip him. But a recent in-home visit with Alabama coach Nick Saban and Haynes’ visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend should finalize things. It completely looks like the Crimson Tide will keep Haynes in their class.

Or group meeting to explain to them new staff incoming and hope they will stay put. Hopeful I know.

May very well be. Like I said, I don't know how reliable/connected this guy is if at all. I was just relaying what was said.

Seems that KHagen has been coming up with some completely wild takes recently. He talks with a lot of conviction and authority but saying things like Kiffin will takeover next year is really stupid.
My take on Saban’s longevity at Alabama is winning another Championship and him going past Coach Bryant’s win totals.
These would probably be his minimum goals before he calls it a day.

King has him on as if he is a true insider really plugged into the program.

Yeah, I have heard him on several times over the years - just didn't know if he really has any connections or not.

There is a guy on this board that I think has better connections.

More concerned about development at that spot than recruiting.
