He is a silent, but I don't think the staff sees him at QB.

I keep seeing Malik Autry’s name mentioned for Alabama as a flip. But he seems like a guy destined to be an OT. Also a bit larger than the interior linemen you want in a 4-2-5.

that just doesn't make much sense. Why would he decommit from usc and commit to us, to play another position? If he didn't want to be at USC he could commit to quite a few other blue bloods as a qb

Carlton is the resident recruiting guru...only person who ever spoke a recruiting to commit that everyone else believed wasn't possible...he picks one recruit a year as his chosen one...this year it appears he is recruiting linebackers as a whole instead of a singular recruit.

Years ago, when Alabama had already secured a ridiculously loaded #1 recruiting class (class of 2021), Carlton predicted - out of the blue - that Bama would also land 5-star running back Camar Wheaton, who was then rated as the no. 1 RB in the country and a top 10 player nationally (no. 8, if memory serves). This came at a point when Wheaton was still committed elsewhere (Texas) and no recruiting insider or site had even hinted at interest from him in joining Bama, let alone a possible flip. Just about everyone on this board confronted Carlton with that and wanted to know where he got his intel from. However, there was not intel, as far as anyone of us could tell, it was just Carlton who insisted that it would happen. He essentially seemed to will Wheaton to sign with Alabama. In the end, Wheaton did decommit and in fact did sign to play for Bama. Unfortunately, he didn't pan out for us (injuries), but it was a remarkable recruiting story on this board.

This recruiting cycle, Carlton has started a running gag about linebackers, due to the seemingly heavy recruiting of LBs by DeBoer (with the 'oe' pronounced as in 'shoe', I'm Dutch) and his staff. So, Carlton's post about USC QB commit Julian Lewis having to switch positions if he wants to joins the Tide, is a joke about him having to move to linebacker.

Roll Tide!

What DL out there are we in it for? Like strictly DT/NT types, I know we have Coleman and Simmons now, but I’d assume we would want 1-2 more. Unless their plan is to go transfer portal next portal season.

They don't have to go outside a 75 mile radius to fill their DL spots.

It's actually pretty incredible they haven't won more titles over the last 20 years.

They have an unbelievable crop of in-state players to pull from and no real challenger for them.
