Anyone else heard anything about Coleman not being a lock to Auburn?

On Thompson not Coleman. A lot of Alabama commits have hinted at something going on. There are rumors of a visit happening soon.

Its just Bama fans trolling them the way they troll us with Williams

So Coleman or Thompson may not be a lock?

What I’ve been pondering is what the immediate difference of Thompson coming in as a freshman would be versus Fleming transferring in. Losing Hastings and bringing in a LT Overton.
The strategy goes from 25-30 freshman and developing them to 15-20 and bringing in key underclassmen from other programs.
Year to year it has to help out with depth, but imo you still have to bring in those key newcomers who buy in.
An example is how Golding recruits HS versus how Kiffin brings in portal. Got to have that mix in the program to be successful long term

When is the early signing day?

Have any of the major insiders/staff commented on this rumor?

I think it’s primarily if a kid buys into the “play at a black school or for a black coach” garbage or not. Interestingly and to their credit, few kids black or white care much about the color of their coach.
Deon’s approach is sickening. I once respected him in spite of his arrogant, look at me antics, but he has become divisive and a hypocrite. Of course, the media will allow him to get away with it. If there were a white corollary, the perpetrator would be run out of the the country or assassinated - most likely by outraged whites.
We’ve become a country of fools and cowards.

IMO, it’s really not Deon’s charisma, it’s his racist pitch that he makes to players that a few buy. Usually, the more naive ones. Thankfully , few are fooled by it - to the kids’ and parents’ credit.

Lolz while I think people are blowing up the race angle to feed a negative perspective, those things are not mutually exclusive. There are people that have Deion's same message that don't attract anyone. You can name politicians, religious leaders, YouTubers who may have ideas or beliefs that are similar (not talking about Deion, just any message), but it is the one's with charisma that have people buy in. If you think Deion's celebrity, personality and overall salesmanship isn't more important than that portion of his overall pitch cool but I think that is crazy.

I get that is a part of why I'm not like here, but the question is legitmate.

There is nothing wrong with the question, I just know how you are even when you have a legitimate point and how this place can get around matters of race.
This can go sideways super fast.

"...why you helping somebody that don't look like you".
If this is actually what he said that seems pretty cut and dry to me. When asked why they picked a certain school recruits tend to say something about it feeling like home and then regurgitate the aspects of the pitch that resonated with them the most, so something like that probably came from the Colorado staff. Maybe the kid just phrased it poorly or something, but there is a pretty distinct difference between "I want to help a black coach be successful" and "I specifically do not want to help a non-black coach be successful."

Only that communication between Alabama and Perry Thompson never stopped after he flipped.
